Winter in July. I reckon there's something comforting about a bit of routine or familiarity here for all the mad things that happen. Sort of like how I'm almost positive we'll have summer around Christmas and definitely mistletoe again—that was my first curse, of course, and it's happened every year since.
Though I'm never sure how to handle birthdays here. I mean, with people who aren't around anymore. It feels a bit weird to ignore them altogether because it isn't just another day back home, so why should it be here? Then again, you don't just go around throwing parties for an empty chair, either.
I used to visit the Hall of the Missing, but that's a bit depressing, don't you think?

It's not that bad. Just keep an eye out for random mistletoe and make sure you avoid crowds if it bothers you. It's a Christmas thing so you haven't got to worry for a few months yet.
[She grins, far too at ease about this; maybe it's because it was her first curse and she's known how to deal with it ever since or maybe it's because she's Ginny and is kind of... shameless about this sort of thing.]

Today and tomorrow are birthdays of friends of mine who aren't here. The eleventh is mine and the twenty-second is Percy's—he's one of my brothers and yes, he's here with me in the City.

So, in other words, we're talking about a month-long party.

Merlin, no, don't go through the fuss. I promise one day's enough. I'd try and get away with something quieter but the last time I did that, I got lectured, so.

The only people who like lectures are the ones doing the lecturing. In which case, I will like lectures. How does your brother feel about parties?
[slight pang- for all that his own brother can be a pain in the butt, he misses him. ALSO, PAUSE]
Merlin- isn't Merlin Sir Snootypa- Arthur's friend?

[And then she latches onto the question about parties with a bright gleam to her eyes.]
You'll do no such thing, Bolin. I'm hardly keeping my birthday a secret this time around so no lectures! [She beams.] As for Percy and parties, well. Let's just say big, loud parties are more the rest of my brothers' thing, but he's grown up with all that because of them and me, so he'll have to accept it, right?

Congratulations, you performed an admirable escape and will live lecture-free for another day. Your brother, on the other hand- Percy, did you say? -may not be so fortunate.
