[Lena's sitting near a window, watching the blizzard outside. She looks transfixed by the swirling flakes, so much so that one might think she turned on the camera by accident. But then she speaks.]

I've moved around a lot of places, but it was all in the South, so there was never much snowfall and never a blizzard like this. It looks like something out of those cheesy holiday films and tv movies.

[Her cat hops up into her lap, purring and kneeding Lena's thigh with her paws (and claws, ouch), before settling down.]

Anyone else around here come from a place with little to no snowfall? Maybe once it's over we can go run around in it. We could make snow angels. [She displays a secret smile at that, replaying a memory in her mind.] Or build a snowman.

[Charlie's inside. She has a slightly wet looking Phantom on her lap and the domesticated white fox is doing what he can to curl up under Charlie's chin. She's warm. He's not. It works for him. Charlie doesn't look as excited about the arrangement. She keeps trying to move the animal but nope. Phantom is being an ass.] I moved a lot, too. All over the 48 states. I've seen all manner of weather.

No. [Hear that? That's the sound of someone with a lot to say and too much uncertainty as to whether or not she can just yet.] I just had to move a lot.

Different neighbors, different schools. Though each time I was hoping for a fresh start.

You've really never seen snow like this?

Snow? In Russia? You don't say!

It does not snow all the time. For five months in the year, there is no snowfall at all.

But after Russia, I went to San Fransisco. It didn't snow a single time in the three years I was there. Where in the South did you live?

San Francisco sounds like fun. I'd like to visit there someday.

[She shrugs.]

New Orleans, Virginia, Barbados. Before coming here I was living in South Carolina.

Eh. The weather was pleasant, but I have missed snow. This is the first time I've seen it since I was fourteen.

Why did you move so often, if I can ask?

I went to school up in Scotland. No shortage of snow there. I was wondering when we'd get our summer blizzard, actually.

This happens here every summer?

[hexuality]

Since I've been here, yeah. We'll probably get a day or two of summer around Christmas, too, just to even things out.

I've heard of Christmas in July, so this must be one of those curses that takes it literally.

A lot of curses take a lot of things literally.

Yeah, I live in Birmingham, Alabama. We don't get much snow there. Where did you live?

Gatlin, South Carolina right before coming here.

[mightbeconcussed]

I've been to Myrtle Beach but never to Gatlin. Is it a small town?

[claimyourself]

Yeah, pretty small.

[With even smaller-minded people.]

Did you like Myrtle Beach?

[mightbeconcussed]

I sort of figured.

[She smiles and nods.]

Yeah. We were there on vacation, got one of the beach houses, that kind of thing. I guess you've probably been there a hundred times.

TV! I know what a TV is now. [in a not very quiet whisper] It has shown me many wonders and many horrors all at the same time.

Buuuut as for your question, Korra's more accustomed to snow than I am. We don't get much of it in Republic City.

Maybe Korra can suggest some fun activities we can do in the snow.

I'm still trying to process what I saw. This might be a long and tedious endeavor that could possibly break my brain.

Oh, sure! She grew up surrounded by snow, so I'll wager she's got a ton of creative ideas.
