[ From the look of things, Ariadne appears to be in the Inception House's kitchen, staring intently at a piece of paper in front of a cookie jar. There's a pen in her hand, the tip pressed to the paper, but every time she goes to write something, she ends up shaking her head and stilling. This continues for several minutes before she finally starts to write. Once she's finished, the pen is set down and the paper held up so the camera can see what she wrote: Pancake. Once the camera has seen it, she begins to whisper. ]

I'm sorry Pancake, but I can't afford to let you turn against me and vote with Arthur because he offered you more treats. I have to vote you off the island.

[ With that said, Ariadne folds the paper in half and places it in the cookie jar, the feeding cutting out as she turns her back. ]

There's a competition at Hogwarts? [ NO ONE TOLD HER THIS and for a moment the curse is pushed aside in the face of something new to learn about. ]

[hexuality]

I mean, not like that, just sort of a thing to keep in mind throughout the year. But there's a point system, you know, as reward and punishment. Say you get caught sneaking out of bed after hours by a professor or a prefect or the Head Boy on rounds—that'll cost your House some points. But if you do something good or even if you answer a difficult question in class, a professor can award you points, too.

The House with the most points at the end of the year wins the House Cup.

Oh -- that makes sense. Is there anything special about the House Cup or is it just bragging rights?

[hexuality]

[She laughs.]

Massive bragging rights. We've won a few times.

[boutant]

That's great! Congratulations.

[hexuality]

It's been a while since we could hold a House Cup, though. It's a bit weird to think about, now.

[boutant]

Bad weird or good weird or just weird?

[hexuality]

Sad weird, I suppose. Things were different.
