[The camera shows Lena fanning her face out in the sun. There's perspiration on her forehead and she's squinting, but then she turns the camera away to show the line in front of her. When she tilts it back to show her face again, she's wearing sunglasses, though there was no rustling sound as she got them out. And that was because she didn't, but some non-magical people might have been freaked out seeing sunglasses conjured out of thin air. She had turned in to face the building so the others in line wouldn't catch her doing it.]

This line is ridiculous, and it's like a hundred degrees out here. It better be worth it once I get inside.

[A trickle of sweat runs down from her temple and down her cheek. She quickly flicks it away, looking irritated.]

Anybody else in this line somewhere? How close are you to the front doors? And what are you most looking forward to inside?

One. He wasn't right up front, but he could see the doors from where he was.

So they really exist, huh! Think he'd let you cut behind him?

He might, but whoever is right behind him wouldn't be too pleased. I don't want to risk it.

Guess there's that... least the sun isn't that bad today.

[ yes it is, Kazu, and no amount of denial will stop you from boiling in your skin like a potato in a knitted hat. ]

You don't think? It seems hot enough for me.

[She looks up at the sky, considering.]

Ever been in the heart of a volcano? I figure it's gotta be better than a volcano!

Uhh, no, but ever been struck by lightning? I can tell you that doesn't feel pleasant.

[In any case, she's going to let some clouds form over them, and kicks up a cool breeze as well. Much better.]

Technically not real lightning, I guess—so there's plenty of places hotter tha...

[ what. what was that. was that actual cool air in his life. a blissful silence rolls through while Kazu tilts his head up to take in the sudden relief.

... in which time the rest of his thought totally gets away from him. ]

[Oh, she knows he's feeling it, and she smiles smugly to herself. It feels pretty darn nice right now.]

This feels much better.

... Feels like a temperature for actual human beings, yeah. Man.

It was pretty awful standing out in the sun. I'm glad the weather decided to help us out.

The timing was pretty good! Think we oughta knock on wood for it or something?

You know, I'm not entirely sure. I think the trick will be finding some real, actual wood. All the tables and chairs will probably be plastic and metal.

Yeah, but they've still got a ton of actual stuff in there! There's gotta be at least one wooden thing somewhere.
