[There's a worryingly pale and exceptionally filthy boy with black eyes and fangs staring at you through the screen, folks. He looks pretty annoyed. Or at the very least lost and miserable.]

Listen, I know I'm not supposed to be out yet, but...I need something. Just a little...It doesn't have to be much. I tried to find the girls but everything's all fucked up. I think...I think something's wrong. My head's splitting and it's not like usually. At least...not all of it; it's everywhere, not just in my head.

[He hisses, words more clearly irritated now but with an undertone of pleading.]

You could spend a long time here and not a single second has passed.

And the Curses? They're wild and they vary. The ticking noise was super loud the other day despite all efforts to interact with people here. And no one knows why. Big Ben, as you called it, just hated us I guess. There was one where everyone thought it was the Fifties, which was fun. But sometimes, our worst memories can be broadcast for all the City to see.

[What? What are you talking about? Charlie's never experienced that one. No sir.] These stone statues were running around, kidnapping people.

[Hasn't experienced that one either. Nuh-uh.] I was a killer mermaid for a week. Kept singing to people and drowning them because apparently mermaid me was a bitch and thought that was the best fun. They happen. They're unpredictable. Sometimes you get lucky and one skips you. Other times, there are City-wide occurrences that you simply can't get out of.

[All the disbelief.]

So what are you guys all on?

[That's right, Ed; vampires? Totally a thing. Pyrokinesis? Sure, why not. Weird kidnapping cities that screw with everything? When you KNOW THERE IS TICKING at least? Absolutely not feasible. Get with the program, sir.]

[All the linefacing and the flat, dry tone to go with it.] Crack. It's in the air.

Fine. Don't believe me. When your first curse hits, I will not hesitate in saying I told you so.

Oh. Another word of advice? Find a place to live and a job. You'll be here a while and the City only hands out freebies for so long.

It shouldn't be handing out freebies at all; it's a city.

Just take my advice. Stay out of trouble or I'll find you. Okay?

Oooh, I'm so scared; the crazy fire chick's gonna hunt me down and turn me into a sandbox. I'm the goddamn king of the food chain; try it.
