[ it's darkening into evening by the time Kazu makes it up the beach. he's got his head down and he's kicking up sand like he's got an ongoing vendetta against it, and it's not until he's nearly stumbling onto them that he notices Yuri's outside after all. ]

Yuri—hey!

[He waves and stands. Hamlet runs by his side, panting and generally being a goofy, happy dog.]

I was beginning to think you were gonna stand me up.

[errandry]

[ rather than greet Yuri, he kneels instead to pet Hamlet, rubbing his ears and smoothing down. ]

Hey, hey. I said I was coming!

[vesperian]

[He laughs, tries to do his customary routine of tugging for Kazu's hat.]

And here you are. So- what's up?

[errandry]

I... brought you sorbet? I told you I was gonna!

[ HOLDIN' UP HIS BAG FOR PROOF. ]

[ FLICKS AT TOO. ]

Mm, Hamlet might think differently, wouldn't you boy?

[The dog barks and tries to stand up on his hind legs. Be careful, Kazu...]

Well, don't want it all to melt, so let's head inside.

[errandry]

What, you trained him to go after human heads? —all right, all right!

[ he stands with Hamlet, rather quickly, and moves to trail Yuri into the house. ]

I don't train him to do anything. He just does what he wants.

[And what Hamlet wants right now is to go pee in that bush over there...

And...TO THE KITCHEN AGAIN. It's like their private meeting spot.]

And you just let him, huh.

[ followsssss more, though he holds up the sorbet bags once he's there. there's probably fifteen little containers. ]

Uh. Where do you want these?

[vesperian]

[He waves his hand nonchalantly]

Anywhere's fine.

[As he digs through the utensil drawer for spoons. He specifically hands Kazu the pink one with a knowing grin.]

[ looks at the spoon.

looks at Yuri. ]

Nice, s'there a whole set like that in there?

There is, actually.

[He takes a red container. Red is tasty!]

You want to take that one home?

[errandry]

Nah, wouldn't wanna break it up!

[ except this leaves him with his mission mostly accomplished: sorbet obtained, Yuri eating it. after a moment's thought, he starts stacking the leftover sorbets, looking mildly guilty. ]

[Noms into his sorbet. Looks at Kazu with a Raised Eyebrow.]

... things aren't that bad anymore, just kinda weird, so I dunno. I dunno where to start.

[ oh no. Kazu—kind of laughs a little, ducks his head, shifts his weight as he leans on the counter. ]

Hasn't happened yet, we're gonna meet up tonight! He's always held back a lot, so—this is my first real chance, I guess.

[Yuri offers a supporting bro-grin. He believes in you, Kazu!]
