Naturally. I tried to figure out how this place worked, whether we really forgot--the usual stuff. Now it just seems like a waste of time.

A waste...? Just 'cause it's hard to tell from in here or what?

Because nothing makes all that much sense here.

... I dunno, them fucking with us makes a lot of sense to me.

Well, yeah--that's about the only thing that does.

But there's different kinds of screwing with people, right? It makes sense if they wanna watch us or something... but what's the point of yanking the memories out once we're gone?

Maybe it's somebody else's rule. Who knows?

The deities we know aren't the only ones around. I've seen a couple other weirdoes show up, but I don't think any of them stuck around. Anyway, there could be something else they answer to.

Huuuuh—you don't mean the visitors, right? 'Cause I haven't heard about any of that.

The ones that come on the weekends? Of course not. I'm talking about other ones, like...the sheep weirdo, or the dancer. Unless you haven't been here that long...

I've been here for a year. Those don't sound familiar, though...

It's been a couple years since the sheep... I don't even remember when the dancer showed up. I didn't pay that much attention to him.

The point is that there are other things that come around ever so often and the deities don't seem to have any control over them.

Dancers and sheep, huh... you don't remember what they did or anything?

[negativegate]

Hmm...The dancer came back as some kind of dead guy--he was still dancing, though--and I think the deities asked for help in getting rid of him.

Actually, they asked for help getting rid of the sheep, too. Those things were pretty vicious.

That's kinda messed up... and it definitely doesn't make any sense, what the hell. Evil sheep?

What, were you expecting something normal in this place?

I dunno, I figured if they were fighting anything it'd be bigger than sheep! Though I guess they must've been pretty strong if they needed people to clear 'em out.

It was probably just the sheer number of them. And it wasn't just the sheep--there was some weirdo on the network talking about them like they were hers, and the deities didn't seem too happy about it.

... it's kinda like they try to keep the whole place stable, huh.

Stable? That might be a way to look at it.

...A while back, a bunch of people here were killed. Supposedly, they were picked as sacrifices to pay some kind of price. A price to keep this place as it is, maybe?

... I remember that—the deities kinda looked like they were controlling it, though. Didn't they? Or at least that new guy was!

So you remember the train? Yeah, I thought they were behind that, too.

I hate that they never explained just what it was for.
