[Wilson's going about his business as usual today, because honestly this sort of day just doesn't faze him anymore. Aspects of it can be irritating, disconcerting, or even dangerous, but not nearly any more so than most other curses. So he's stopped at an admittedly crowded cafe near the hospital after leaving, coffee and a sandwich before him while he looks over a patient file. After making a few notes, he puts the file down to make the following audio post to the network - ]
I learned, several of... these back [ - because the populace doesn't really have a concise term for them - ], that there isn't really much point in trying to avoid the masses. Besides, if you do that, you're likely to have missed out on an opportunity to speak to people you would have been happy to see - faces from home, those who have left the City, even those who only visit on these days but do so with enough regularity to have developed personal connections.
So, as a curse, this isn't inherently good or bad. It has the potential to be either - or both, but it's the people who come, the interactions we have, that make it what it is. In a way, that makes it not entirely unlike any other day - there are just a lot more faces than usual.
[And out. He's going to finish his sandwich now, thanks.]
[ooc: COME AND GET HIM. Open to either Network or Action; hit him up at the cafe or after he leaves. I only ask for no doubles of House cast without permission annnnd that is all. He's from late season 3 but can forget whatever he needs toand has already been spoiled on his own future a bit XD]

[Reaching over, for a moment it looks like she's going in for someone else's trick of sandwich theft. Instead, she straightens his tie.]
Here, you get to do what you want.

[Even if he hasn't gone through this loss yet, he does know enough that, as soon as the words are out, it sticks with him who he's said them to - and that it really isn't going to get easier. He glances down at his fixed tie, then back to her, his expression soft as he leans in on the table slightly.]
I do like that thought, though - a bonus round.

[There's a wash of something so wistful through her - but she shakes it, regains composure before it's even lost. It's not who she's choosing to be, not for this bonus round.]
I like the idea of this weekend being a chance to make a lasting change.
[A thick pamphlet is coming out of her purse at this point.]
So I picked you up a catalogue.

A lasting change? To what?

Do you like the aluminum finish or the white? White would match the other appliances, but aluminum has carton storage in this section at the bottom.

I'm not sure carton storage would do much good, living with House. I don't doubt his dedication to disorganizing anything I attempt to organize.
[And setting back a bit, to tilt his head at her slightly. Though it's a statement, the clear bemusement in his tone makes it sound like a question.]
A new refrigerator.

[This explanation is serene considering it's essentially code for payback for irritating you.]
He likes having things his way, that's no reason to make it easy for him. How long have you lived in that apartment, paying your half of the rent? And how much of what's inside has been your choice?
[She offers him the catalogue.]
There are solutions for every living area. If you see anything you like we could have it delivered before he gets home.

It's funny that you should bring this up now... I'm actually taking in a cat. Two, maybe. Which, I'm sure, is going to thrill him. And this on top of that...
[But he takes it and starts leafing through it.]
Though I suppose we could use a few fresh touches around the place.

[She sits back, proud as he takes the initiative. Of course, ideally the new decor will be home delivered by expedient and unobtrusive workmen, nothing to interrupt the night. It's curious, most of Amber's customer service experiences do work out expedient and unobtrusive. Eventually.]
But I can always hire someone else to do it. [And she nods to the catalogue.] Anything you choose is paid for. I have funds.
[She has all of House's card details.]

[He smirks at her over the edge of the page, though he's simultaneously musing on how normal this feels - not usual or typical by any means, given that these weekends only come up every few months, but somehow perfectly right.]
Oh? I do have a decent savings of technicolor dream money in the bank...
