[The image shakes itself free of all the scattered dust and fragmented digital thought to show a view of the inside of the Barn just outside the City. A little winter sunlight is falling through the windows and the door--a peaceful sort of place, as compared to the City itself today. Indeed, there seems to be a great deal of commotion somewhere...rather nearby. Not too nearby, but the sound of it is rising up and filtering in to this countryside image. That must be the City at large today.

It's not in the least bit an accidental video this time (fortunately, though he still needs to fix that catch). Although it isn't very focused or directed, all the same, since, from the device's familiar place hung from the horn of a saddle, it seems to show the Barn, the horses, and our Man here (no poncho, please nota bene, because he's wearing a longer, warmer, slightly weather-beaten duster for the weather--but the poncho is just packed up for warmer weather) adjusting the saddle and packing up and preparing from which the device hangs--lefthandedly. The horse shivers a little, adjust its footing: the image slides side to side and settles again. He gets happy with a particular buckle and then, taking his cigarillo out of his mouth, addresses the device.]

Seems like it's a little too crowded for me around here.

[There's a little bit of a wry smile in that. This isn't the first time he's done this, packing up and getting a move on in response to crowds. Not that surprising with him really, is it? Clearly he is, as the pointedly anachronistic saying goes, getting the hell out of Dodge--for the time being at least. As much as he can (he can't go far, not in these crowds). He tips his hat--well, pulls on the brim a little--to the device.]

So long.

[He pats the horse's neck with that same left hand and pulls himself up into the saddle and sets the horse to walking. Only then, with the darkness of the barn and the light outside it and all the sounds of City and farm passing around each other, does he reach down to collect the device and snap it shut, ending the feed and dropping it back into darkness and--]

[ooc: Come. Get. Some. Bring on the cowboys, the references, the AUs, the facetwins, the doubles, the clones, the canonmates-I-will-never-have, aged up, aged down--bring it all. He's going to be wandering around some (with and on the horse) so if you want to see him in passing in life or on the Network, that is all fine. Action threads, Network threads, whatever--as you please!]

[He looks up, of course, because...there's a hawk overheard. There was a hawk before, wasn't there? And a hawk during another curse even before that. Same hawk?

He sits his horse and watches it. Maybe it'll land like it did before.]

[He circles a few more times before he lands with a thud on the top of his hat. Hello, there! This guy missed you. He gets a few affectionate nibbles on the brim of his hat.]

[You are not a songbird, hawk. You are a hawk. He would like you off of his hat now, please. He will try to lift you off, in fact, and set you on the saddle where he prefers you to be, thank you.]

[Hey! Why are you being mean? The hawk squawks as it's dislodged, and takes a perch on the saddle horn. These are some serious hawk-glares coming your way.]

I'd say nice knowin' you, but- heh. I kinda only just got here.

That's a fine-lookin' horse you got there.

[And that's all he has to say...for now. He needs to get the measure of this man before he can settle on a true course of action.]

["Fine-looking" isn't--actually, no, Horse is pretty "fine-looking" for the work he has to do, even if most people would think of him as the beat-up pickup truck of horses. That's exactly what he's gotta be, and he still looks all right for it. (At least he isn't a mule.) So, taking this into consideration...]

He does all right.

[Ben gives him a slight, mostly indicative nod.] Seems to me like he does more than all right.

[The smallest and wryest of small and wry smiles.]

[This is given the mocking almost musical intonation that certain petulant children use when stating the obvious to adults. "Nowhere~"]

[And he meets that wry smile with a wide, easygoing grin.]

Don't rightly know where I am, so I can't rightly know where I'm goin'.

Wouldn't mind a good drink, though. [And a hacksaw, but he'll wait and see if this man is the lawful type. Or the questioning type.]

[ How's that horse like dogs? Because there's one bounding over, barking excitedly.

There's also a man following after the dog, but, well, the horse is less likely to spook about that. ]

[Wildcats, barn cats, hawks, other horses--why not a dog too? Why not? The horse takes a few steps, shivers some--bounding, barking dogs are startling things--but doesn't bolt. Fortunately. The dog's just barking anyway; doesn't seem to mean any harm. Seem, at least.

Since there also seems to be someone with the dog, Our Man here will just sit his horse and see what comes of it.]

[ The dog pulls up short of the horse, tilting his head to one side before whining. Sorry Dog, these are not the droids you're looking for. Head drooping slightly, he heads back over to the man following after him for some ear scratches.

Cowboy hat, some sort of metal band around his wrist, and a dog. Jake glances up at the other man, nodding his head slightly. ] Sorry about him.

[He sorta shakes his head.]

He didn't bite.

[So no harm done. Just a slightly shivery horse. Who gets a pat on the neck for his troubles.]

Must've thought you were someone he knows.

[ Dog is sitting at his feet now, looking around. Jake takes a glance around, too, frowning. ]

[As the Man goes... wherever he's going, he might noticed a strange contraption nearing from the opposite direction. A horse, patient and clearly a singular creature though of unassuming looks, draws a makeshift travois. As one draws closer, it might become apparent that the dusty lump lain across it is a man, or something in the shape of one, a hat drawn low over his eyes and his boots trailing as they go.

As he nears or passes the Man, all unknowing, the figure stirs, stretches, and yawns, finally setting the brim of his hat back to mildly take in the unfamiliar surroundings.]

Brothers from different mothers ;~; (Same father, though.)

[...now that's not something you see every day. Maybe that's the way to travel. ... Maybe not.

He looks down on this dusty may-or-may-not-be-a-man shape from his seat on his horse. You're a sight.]

[Trinity looks up, fixing the other man with a blue-eyed grin before giving a cursory glance to his surroundings. The horse stops, seemingly without a signal, and Trinity stands up, ineffectually beating dust off his overalls that settles back down into place.]

Usually. Say, do you know where I might find some chow?

[Trinity waits, smiling. For an uncomfortably long time.]
