[ silence follows the last one for a few moments while Agito tilts his head towards the sound. a flying shark passes overhead just in time to be seen by the camera before it explodes. ]

[ his first instinct is to jump after Agito—like a baited dog or something goddamn close—at the implied insult: that Ikki could be anything less, anything else. but he's still and he's here and Agito's riddling at him, all disdain and answers that aren't answers. and the thing is that Kazu doesn't want these thoughts. absolute trust isn't easy, but it's straightforward. this choice feels like nothing he's agreed to—feels, still, somewhere in the marrows, like a betrayal of faith. ]
