[ The feed starts with a crash, a high pitched noise that sounds like a buzz, and then someone's breathing. ]

Wanda, no. [ Next come the flapping of wings and the soft coo of a bird. The Doctor is pretty much flailing around trying to scare them off, at least nobody can see this. ] Just because it's father's day doesn't mean I want a bloody corpse as a present. I'm quite happy with a cup of tea.

[ Pause, indignant sounds of a cat mewling as she's picked up. ] Bit tricky for your paws, how about I make it?

Tried. Luckily this time it saw me waving like a mad scarecrow and ran off ... well, flew. Should we get a scarecrow?

[ Pulling a face. ]

I'm not that lifeless yet, Pond.

[waitedforyears]

Well, I suppose I could flail a little bit more. Do you think we need to get Wanda a bell?

If you don't want any more father's day presents? Yeah, maybe.

I'll pop down the shops later. Now Amelia. [ Leaning back on his heels. ] How are you?

[waitedforyears]

No fatherly shades anywhere near me. Guess 'm not cursed. [ She's not sure whether to be happy about it or not. She used to not have a father. Then she had one. It's confusing. She loves her tiny tiny father. ]

[wearafeznow]

The only ghostly shadows I see are the ones Wanda has cut down in her bid for domination.

[ Pouting. ] But she's so soft and fluffy.

So's the monsters on that one planet, what's it called. The ones that tried to eat me.

[wearafeznow]

[ Holding Wanda beneath his chin. ]

I know. Best she can do is chew on my fingers.

[wearafeznow]

[ He's grinning at her softly, Wanda chewing at his bowtie. ]

She wouldn't do that, would you, Wanda? You would never chew on Amelia. You like her.

[waitedforyears]

[ Stop that, Doctor. That soft grin only reminds her of the high school curse. She can't really help but smile back. ]

Of course she does.

[ Ah, high school. He still thinks Rory will sneak up one day soon and shout at him. ]

You're her favourite.

[waitedforyears]

I thought that'd be you.

[ She misses Rory. She also misses— a lot of things, actually. Sex, closeness, intimacy. ]

[wearafeznow]

[ He's silent for a moment, thinking too hard. ]

You're all right, aren't you Pond?

[waitedforyears]

I— [No one's really asked her that outright, lately. ] No. Yes. I'm fine. Or I will be, maybe.

[wearafeznow]

You know I'm here. [ Rocking back on his heels. ] If you need to talk about anything.

Yeah. I know.

[ Looking away. This probably isn't anything he wants to talk about, though. He used to call Rory when she was 'having an emotion'. He's a bloke and a sometimes socially awkward one and how can she tell him that she misses her husband and sex and intimacy and that the closest she's come to intimacy was with him during the high school curse.

Sex, too, then, come to think of it, but that wasn't with him. ]

[ Because he can't show her the universe anymore, and he hates that, wants it back. Impressing Amelia Pond was his lifeline, once upon a time. ]
