[The feed opens to show Jack, obviously in a bar setting. But instead of his usual attempts to liven up the place, he's sitting in the farthest corner of the bar, the music blaring around him and both an empty glass of beer and a freshly filled one in front of him. He's very subdued for those who actually know how he is on most days. It's dimly lit so it's difficult to see, but his eyes are a little bit swollen, his cheeks a little damp. It's obvious he's not having a good day. And despite his attempts to hide away and wait it out, the City has a different plan as he doesn't know the video came on for all to see him in his melancholy.]




ooc: Jack's first curse in the City and I'm so cruel to him! Daddy Dearest curse, of course.

[Rose sees the video and immediately starts looking for him. Rose has been here long enough, she recognizes the bar. It's not long before she slides onto the stool next to Jack.]

Livin' in the TARDIS with the lot of us gettin' to you?

[She knows that's not it and it's said in a teasing sort of voice.]

[captaininnuendo]

[He hadn't been watching for her, so when she plops down beside him in the booth at the bar, he's surprised. It's a pleasant surprise though. Jack has always been a number one Rose fan, aside from the Doctor, which he supposed made him number thirteen in the line of Rose fans... until the next Doctor came along. He tries for a smile that doesn't really happen and tries to cover up the smile failure with a shake of his head and a drink of his beer.] Rose Tyler, you know I love living with the lot of you. And the TARDIS is like home to me. What do you want to drink?

[She smiles at him and presses her shoulder against his.]

Beer? Maybe a Bass?

[captaininnuendo]

[Jack nods and flags down a barmaid. She takes his order for another beer for himself and one for Rose too. Then as the girl leaves, Jack proceeds to down almost all of the beer in front of him. He sets the glass down, licks his lips and glances at Rose.] Better to start on even keel, you know?

[He knows that he’s way ahead of Rose on the drinking front, but the sentiment is still there.]

[There's concern in her eyes but she nods.]

Yeah. Even keel. [She nudges his shoulder with hers.] Might have to carry me home if I keep up with you beer for beer.

[captaininnuendo]

I do have quite the beer tolerance. One of the good things about being me. [He looks sideways to her.] I’m gonna be alright, you know. I’m always okay.

[iwasherefirst]

[She nods in response to his reassurance.] I know. Doesn't hurt to have someone who loves you with you 'til you are.

[captaininnuendo]

Be still my heart, Rose Tyler loves me. [He dramatically places a hand over his chest where his heart is. The tender returns with their beers and Jack finishes off the one in front of him then lifts the other one to her.] What should we toast to? To love? Or to fathers who seem extremely disappointed?

[She rolls her eyes and bumps his shoulder again.] Definitely love. Lots more to celebrate there.
