What do you believe happens to the dead once they leave the City?
I won't contest religious beliefs.
[Flagged to Dean // Open to Police Force Members and Affiliates]
I'd like to request a few days off, assuming no one else gets murdered. Please.
[ooc: Euphie left, she and Justin had a weird thing going on that was rather emotional, and Justin's dealing the only way he knows howthat doesn't involve self-destructive habits he has outgrown, which is... thinking. (For those keeping score, he was already upset about Mara and the police force's lack of fixing things.)]

Private
Literally, preferably. I've read enough poems.
Private
[Ever-so-dry.]
In my own world, I'd died.
The poems don't do it justice. Or mention that it's inconveniently temporary.
Private
I died, too. Three times, and it never takes.
You don't sound like a poetry fan.
Private
[He knows that painfully well.]
Three times? My my...
I like it fine. But those on death are a tad pretentious. Seeing is believing, after all.
Private
You were in the prison here for some time, weren't you? You have a history of being suicidal?
[It pays to file police paperwork. Plus, there aren't enough people in this City who want to die. Company is nice.]
Private
...Not in the City's prison. My elder brother had me contained in a personal cell.
[For his own - and everyone else's - good.]
What of it?
[His suicidal streak isn't a secret. But he's wary - ever-wary - of discussing personal affairs with strangers.]
Private
[Emotionless delivery--it's hard to tell if he's serious or joking. Justin is almost always serious.]
Nothing. It's just interesting, finding someone else who can help but feel disappointed when they come back.
Private
'Healthy' is a relative term.
...It's a greater disappointment when you're as old as I am.
Private
How old are you? Hundreds of years? Thousands?
Private
Hundreds.
The ones older than myself boast a special brand of insanity.
Private
You're a vampire?
Private
[Vampiric only in that they're immortal and drink blood.]
Private
Private
[He's not sharing deets with someone in the Police, Justin :|]
Planning to write a dissertation on blood-suckers?
Private
Yes, I'm curious, but only because it's been at least two years since I've heard the word used.
Private
Really?
[Curious himself now.]
For whom was it last used?
Private
Yes, but I wasn't... wholly aware of what was going on. Only one of the involved parties is still in the City, to my knowledge.
Private
And who might this 'party' be?
Private
Private
[He'll just ask around. He always does.]
...Your name is...?
Private
[And his is Karl, assuming all reports are accurate, but outright saying as much seems... rude.]
Private
[There are reports on him? Oh goody. He loves publicity.]
I'll leave you to your - philosophy corner.
Private
[He would, wouldn't he.]
