If those who were dead in the City became zombies in their home worlds, every world would have zombies--more than one or two, likely, if becoming a zombie is the norm after death.

No, but we're speaking in broad terms--about all universes, not just one. It's likely that some universes are full of zombies. What about the others? Does each world have its own afterlife?

To be perfectly honest, I don't know that much about multiple universe theories. But why the fuck not, right? I mean, there are a plethora of different afterlives on my earth, and we've already proven that there are no actual afterlives in this fucking shithole, just life and unlife. Stands to reason every place would be different.
