Dæmon Day

[ Video / Apartment Action ]

[ What happens when a strong willed mischievous soul is allowed to run free? It might take a form something like a large dog and decide to cause some trouble. ]

Oh stop!

[ A vase tumbles off a table spilling it's contents all over the floor as a cat frantically leaps from the floor, to the window sill, then as high up on the bookcase as she can climb. ]

If you stop running it will stop chasing you...!

[ Cats don't listen well at the best of times but certainly not while being chased by a dog-like creature. There is another crash from some where in a different room as the second cat makes it's way to the high ground, before Eagle gives up the chase himself and flops back into a chair to rest.
Some might notice as the creature returns to his owner's side that it gradually looses energy as Eagle does. Or maybe how for a brief moment the creature had seemed almost transparent? A dæmon is only as strong as it's host. ]

Dear Mercy,

Normally I would say I could handle this myself but I'm not very good with animals really... At least they listen better when Lantis is around.
Do you have a net?

Dear Eagle,

Are you mocking me because I am cursed to communicate only in letters? I am sticking out my tongue at you.

I do not have a net handy, though there's probably one somewhere in the house. I could come over and scare them, though. Cats and dogs generally aren't too fond of us coyote types.

Teasing! Only teasing! I wasn't sure if you were cursed or just trying something unique today.

It might just be easier if I left the house for a while. That would give the cats a chance to calm down and come down from the ceiling.

[Sigh... cats why you cause so much trouble?]

I am totally cursed. You're welcome to come here, though I warn you, even when I try to speak it comes out as a letter.

This morning I got up and said to my poor cat, 'Dear Medea, What a sweet girl you are. Are you ready for some breakfast? Love, Mercy'

She thinks I'm nuts.

Well, there are worse things than that! I can imagine the letter I might have to write.

Or something like that. But, if you wouldn't mind I might stop by for a while.

As soon as I clean up a little here I think I will. I wouldn't want to leave it too messy just in case Lantis comes home and wonders what happened. It wouldn't be very nice to worry him won a curse day.

Yes, thank you, I will. He probably will be busy for a while but as soon as he returns I will tell him about your invitation. It sometimes takes a while for him to take care of all the animals at the zoo.

ot question. Is that a pokemon or a wind spirit from Aion?

[ooc: Sorry for commenting on your RP blog. I saw the pic in DW latest and thought "I haven't seen a wind spirit like that." It made me wonder if it was a pokemon.]

[OOC: It's ok. You just confused me there. I was like I didn't think we had a character like this in the game? ^^

But yeah, it's supposed to be the final version of the wind spirit spiritmasters can use. ]

[ooc: I tried with a spirit master but they are too squishy to solo. Either that or I can't keep aggro on my pet. I have a archer main and temp as a side character.]

[OOC: I had a friend play as a spiritmaster but I had to take the agro for them since their defense doesn't seem too good if the bad guys get past their spirit.

I have only ever played the game as an assassin or templar. ]

Might want to invest in a dog trainer, there.

Especially if you want to keep your cats whole.

I don't usually have a dog. This guy...

[He gestures to the animal who seems perfectly calm now that the cats have run off. ]

Just sort of appeared this morning. I'm not even sure why it keeps following me around.

Well, maybe it's a familiar. Or someone you know turned into a dog; that's happened before.

Do you even know how to handle a dog? I only ask since you have cats.

A familiar or some how connected to me. I think that must be the case. The only person it could be would be Lantis and he would never cause me this much trouble.

I really don't! Do you have any experience with dogs?

I do, I've had them for a while. Would you like some help? I'm not doing anything else today besides lounging around and waiting for my roommate to get back.

For the sake of the cats I think they would greatly appreciate it if I did take you up on that offer.

Just figuring out how to get it to sit would be enough I think. Should I meet you somewhere or would you be comfortable coming here?

[He will send the directions tot he apartment since that is were the creature is causing the most trouble. ]

[She's there in an instant, just inside his doorway because what are manners when you can fly everywhere?]

Hello~ Is this the trouble maker? [She smirks at Eagle and then crouches next to the dog.]

Heey, there. What's your name?

[That was incredibly fast! Eagle had been expecting a little time between the message and the ladies arrival but there had been almost none. ]

You must have been in the area?

[The dog is a very friendly sort so as soon as the visitor crouched down he lowered his head as if to say 'pet me'? ]

He does fine with people. It is only cats that he seems to enjoy chasing.

Something like that.

[She runs her hands across the dog, petting him and scratching him behind his ears.

Then she holds his face in her hands and stares into his eyes a moment.]

All right, listen, I know it might be fun, but the cats aren't liking it so I recommend you chill out on the Tom and Jerry deal, okay?

[She continues looking at him and petting him until she gives a nod like she's satisfied with the results. She's about to say something to Eagle when something catches her attention.

She looks from the dog to Eagle and then back to the dog.] Huh...that's interesting.

[The dog creature doesn't make any indication that he understood any of that, maybe he did, maybe he didn't. He clearly loved the scratches though as he leaned in for a few more. ]

If it were that easy I think I could have done that! Do they really understand commands like that?

[Eagle leaned closer to check on the animal. ]

What is interesting? He didn't get scratched when he was chasing the cats did he?
No matter how much he deserved it, it would be a shame if he had been injured.

I have a way with animals....

No, what's interesting is I think I know where this guy came from and, if I'm right, which I usually am, none of my commands will matter.

Your dog here is pure soul.

Pure soul? What does that mean exactly?

[He did understand the concept of a soul but a daemon was something he had never run across before. ]

It means that this isn't a regular dog, but a soul with a form. My guess is, since he's so attached to you, it's your soul. I can't know that for certain without checking, but it's not likely to belong to anyone else.

These things don't tend to just happen so my guess is, this is a curse.

With everyone acting so strange I knew it had to be one of those 'cursed weekend' things. I had just never heard of some one's soul leaving their body to become an animal before.

What will the city think of next?

[He reaches out to give his 'soul' a pat too. ]

In that case I should be able to control him with no problem. It would just be a matter of will, wouldn't it?
