It's strange how, after a few years, weekends like this start to feel almost routine. Which isn't to suggest, of course, that the curses themselves aren't still capable of being disturbing and dangerous - honestly, that makes the fact that the weekends themselves feel so routine all the more unsettling.
Of course, I seriously doubt anyone needs to be told to be careful, going about their business in spite of the curses. And I trust that any individual who decides to spend the day out and about, spending time with their friends, is being particularly alert for anyone who may be affected by some of the more dangerous curses.
[There's a slightly pointed pause. It's not that he's aiming that at anybody, of course.]
Anyway. Penny, it's entirely possible that, with all this, I might be working a bit late. Should I pick something up for dinner?
[ooc: Uhhhhhh so family curse time! Neil (
had_not_lived) is his son annnd Penny (
anunluckypenny) is his wife - buuuuut not Neil's mom. Yeah... what can I say, really? Even a curse can't magic away Wilson's divorce rate.]

[She thinks for a moment and then nudges the noodle salad in his direction.]
In that case, I'd better take the stir fry. I don't want to get between you and things you're dead-set on.

[He grins as he takes the noodle salad, making a considerable show of settling comfortably into his seat.]
I do appreciate your sacrifice.

[She takes up the stir fry and sits next to him, back to his shoulder and quite cozy, thank you.]
You know me. Always ready to take one for the team.

[He's very cozy. And picking contentedly at his food even as he lets out a soft, gentle laugh.]

[She likes it. And, just maybe, if one of them thinks that she's amazing, she'll be amazing enough to make everything work out.
But for now, she doesn't want to think about that mess. Just eating and not having to fill up any awkward silences is nice.]

[He did have to point that out, you know. It was important. Important enough to pause eating for.]

[House usually gets him to go for meat.]
If there's one thing I can have unshakeable faith in, it's House ability to find something to give me grief about.
