[Charlie's in her rooftop garden again and it's flourishing. Charlie's not recording that, though. She's recording her fox, Phantom, who is tearing around the garden at top speed. At one point, Charlie gives up trying to track him and just lets the device rest on the arm of her chair. Phantom zips by a few times before stopping to investigate the camera, sniffing it and peering into it with curiosity.

There's a meow nearby that gets both Charlie and Phantoms attention and Charlie's arm comes into view. It's scratched up slightly. No big deal. When her arm retracts, she's holding Petrichor who apparently gives no fucks about this and is purring loudly.

Phantom is watching this, standing on his hind legs with one paw on the armrest. This knocks the device over and Charlie swears, leaning and reaching for it.

When the camera settles, it's filming Charlie who has a couple more fine scratches just on her jawline. Phantom and Petrichor are curled up against her, Petrichor with his head on her shoulder and Phantom with his paws in the air. She's cursed to hug the cats but it's mild.]

Life lesson for the day; Don't hug Hypnos. She's not a fan.

[And with that, she shuts the feed off, one arm around the cat who is enjoying this very much so indeed.]

Hypnos is. Petrichor isn't. He's all for the hugs. [And there's very loud purring from the feline.]

For now. But when your back is turned, next thing you know, he'll be putting his butt in your face.

This is true. [But Petrichor gets another hug and the cat only sits up long enough to stick his nose in Charlie's ear. Charlie flinches at that.] Guh. No. That's weird. Don't do that.

If I visit today, I'll keep that in mind. Mine doesn't seem bothered by it at all, though.

Hypnos took off and hid in the spare bedroom. I don't think she's coming out any time soon.

But, aww. That cat seems to be enjoying that. You should keep him.

Poor Hypnos.... But it's probably for the best today.

Oh! I've had him for a while, a few months by now. He's just shy and hides when people come over.

Ah, gosh. [Facepalm.] That explains a lot, actually. He seems pretty fond of you.

Right, don't hug Hypnos, got it. At least the others don't seem to mind it so much...

Neither of these two have ever minded. Heck, I can't even begin to count how many times I've woken up with these two in my bed. It's pretty nice.

You have the sweetest pets, Charlie. Even Hypnos is nice...just because he doesn't like hugs doesn't mean he's not a good kitty.

Oh, Hypnos is a sweetheart. I just don't think he's a fan of me today.

What's there to panic over? It's just a cat scratch or two. [But she's grinning at his concern and there's that faint blush again. Phantom lifts his head long enough to look at the screen before settling again. Petrichor has fallen asleep and charlie's amused.]

I don't think I'm getting up any time soon. They have me quite pinned down.

You know, hugging cats is a very risky business.

[Guess who decided to appear next to the bench.]

I've also only known a few cats who were cuddly, they're a rare breed.

[Charlie jumps slightly, scaring Phantom off of her who decides it's a good time to run around as fast as he can. Again. Petrichor is happy where he is and just looks up at Gabe, purring loudly.]

They are. It's kind of sad, really. I think it helps that I got Petrichor when he was a few weeks old and carried him almost everywhere. Either that, or I spoiled him.

Cats love being spoiled. They're mini divas.

[He stoops down and, as Phantom came by, the archangel snatched up the fox and held him.]

You need to chill, my friend. You're like Roadrunner, only a fox edition.

[He shifts his attention to Charlie and motions to the scratches.]

Want me to take care of those?

[Phantom squirms for a moment before finally deciding to settle, looking at everyone in turn with something close to amusement. Charlie smirked slightly.]

You heard Gabriel. Last time you ran around like a madman, I ended up chasing you into the woods and was almost eaten by cannibals.

[Glancing at the scratches and finally assessing how bad they are. Which...wasn't too bad. They just stung enough to be obnoxious.]

...if you don't mind. [She smiles a bit sheepishly, feeling a tad awkward.]

Hypnos moves enough to scratch?

[That cat didn't move once while Chekov was over, at least no more than a flick of the ears or a slow blink.][

Have you disinfected the scratches? Doctor McCoy says that animals carry germs under their claws. [Well... McCoy says much worse, but Chekov doesn't think that Charlie needs to hear about the long list of exotic diseases that animals can carry.]

Weird, right? Hypnos moving at all? Sort of freaked me out for a second.

[She nods, holding up the small bottle of hydrogen peroxide she kept on hand.] That was the first thing I did after it happened. And then i went for Petrichor. He's much more receptive to hugs.

For a time, I thought Hypnos was not alive.

[He gives the peroxide an approving look before admiring Petrichor.] Is it unusual for cats to enjoy being held? I have heard conflicting reports about their behavior.

Petrichor is spoiled. He was always held and snuggled when he was smaller. Hypnos, I got her when she was old so her opinions were pretty set already, I think.
