[ luckily for her, the city has decided to cut her a break for once and it is that angel - the same one, in fact. he remembers being here, remembers talking to her and being shown around. it's why he's able to weave himself in and out of the crowds so easily. he stops when she steps out of one of the buildings, catching her scent easily. he crosses the street to meet her. ]

What can I say? Sometimes I'm very patternic. ...and I’m not sure that’s a word in any language I know.

[ angel's not, he grasps her hand firmly, yet gently, sure of his place and the boundaries that exist between them. ] As good as Sunnydale without an apocalypse gets.

One of these days, his face is going to freeze that way.

[She's forgotten things used to be like this. She loves it though, that he's so willing and eager. It's such a marked difference from the person he becomes. There's nothing wrong with who he becomes but he's very reserved. They both are, for good reasons. Good reasons that have yet to come to pass and with her knowledge of the future, won't ever happen.And that would be a depressing thought that would definitely need a work around if he were ever to stay here for longer than twenty four hours. As it is, they have twenty four hours. She's going to spend them being happy.]

An apocalypse free Sunnydale can be nice. I'm almost nostalgic for it. There's nostalgia, Angel. I'm having it. For Sunnydale.

[ he supposes the musing on nostalgia would make more sense to him if he understood her history, but he respects her reluctance to discuss it. angel's never been one for wanting to know what's going to happen. prophecies and visions of the future only ever lead to trouble and messes in attempt to avoid what you find unsavory. ]

I'm sure Sunnydale has plenty of nostalgia for you. I certainly do.
