[It is Tony's birthday, and he is on the ground of his workshop surrounded with pizza boxes and empty bottles of juice and chlorophyll. It may seem lame, but better this than repeating the incidents of his last birthday.

Hey, at least he's not dying this time.

Dummy the robot wheels in from around the corner, angling this way and that to inspect the situation at hand.

Before he douses Tony with his built-in fire extinguisher.]

[He gets up and sways, using Rhodey for support from the sudden transition. He's not drunk, not really. He's just. Still a bit of a mess.]

[ One arm coming around Tony. ] There. How 'bout a shower and then we'll get on with the programme. I have some plans, all right.

[ Mostly: blowing things up and alcohol and not leaving Tony alone even for a moment because that's the last thing he needs right now. ]

[He gets the gist, and blowing things up sounds like a pretty damned good idea to him]

You know just how to woo me, Rhodey.

I think I've picked up on a thing or two over the years, yeah.

[ It's not a hug, but his arm is tightening around Tony for a moment anyhow. ]

...I don't smell that bad, do I?

[Referring to Rhodey's 'showering' comment.]

[warmachine]

Nah, but you might wake up a bit after a shower.

[ironmanic]

Well, that's a relief.

[He takes off his greasy work tank and tosses it into a corner as he heads off for his personal showers]

I think I ran out of the good smelling soap anyway.

[warmachine]

I've smelled worse. Even from you. [ He'll just wait here. Maybe collect those pizza boxes and throw them away, pet Dummy on the head for a moment. ]

[ironmanic]

You sure know how to flatter a guy.

[He mumbles as he quickly rinses himself off in the shower and then returns with a towel wrapped around his waist.]

Privilege of being your best friend.

[ironmanic]

[Sighs.]

So now what?

[warmachine]

Now we suit up. [ And there's a lot of stuff to blow up, painstakingly put together at the outskirts of the City. ]

[a quirk of his lips and he silently moves over to his suits and, well, suits up.]

[ a moment later and so is Rhodey. ] C'mon.
