[ curtis plops at the end of his bed to actually acknowledge the feed for the first time in almost a month now.  he's a little breathless and-- sweaty.  late-night running was never really his thing, but he'd been having some trouble sleeping as of late.  he slips off his windbreaker and sips his bottle of water before deciding to speak. ]

... I found this dog.  I don't know if anyone's missing 'im. [ and he'll place his bottle on the end table beside him before reaching out and gently pulling a golden retriever into view. ]  

Give me a call if he's yours, yeah?  

[ filtered to alisha & simon: ]

You think it's all right if we keep him until we figure out what to do with him?  

[ he's expecting to get yelled at.  or hit.  but he kind of really likes the puppy dog :( ]

[ but curtis will see alisha start hauling ass to come find his mopey one. and out the door she goes. she doesn't turn off the video, just because. ]

He's perfectly trained. Smart, too.

[ he's walking in her direction. a certain dog might run ahead to greet you, alisha. ]

[ team hobbits ]

[ she does spot him far, far away. he's super tall. that's advantageous for finding curtis. but she can't help but grin a little when she sees a dog heading her way.

with a mumble: ] Unlike his owner.

[ she turns off her device. ]

[ team giants ]

[ he stuffs his hands in his pockets and watches fluffy eli lick his new mom.

his brows are up. ] I heard that.

[awkwards]

[ HIS NAME IS ELI YOU TWAT!

alisha grins as she finally meets them, and bends down to give ELI a scratch behind the ears. ] Aw, he's cute, too.

The camera does you no justice, Eli. [ ignoring curtis' presence? maybe ... ]

[mrbackwards]

[ BUT HE'S-- hdu use bold.

but curtis will wait for his acknowledgement. and wait. and wait.



and wait. ] I'm standing right here you know.

[ stop loving eli more than curtis, alisha :( ]

[ she does glance up, but she doesn't move away from eli or stop scratching behind his ears. ] Er, yeah. I see that. Unless you want a scratch behind the ears, I'm giving it to the abandoned dog, yeah? Probably been all scared. [ she says the last bit to the dog, in a tone that isn't common with alisha. she speaks to it as if it's a baby. ]

[mrbackwards]

Wouldn't hurt you to... [ but his voice fades as he watches her. as he listens to her baby-talk eli. it's different, but it's got curtis smiling. ]

[awkwards]

[ alisha frowns and pulls away from the dog. ] Er, no. It's probably just scared. It's not like you're giving it the attention it needs.

[ we both know she's a massive liar. ] Besides, it needs therapy after you wanting to call it Fluffy. Who names a dog that?

[mrbackwards]

Hey, you're the one that brought Fluffy up. [ but he crouches down beside the doggy to rub his back, looking to his side. to catch her gaze. ]

Think he likes you, too. Ever had a dog?

[awkwards]

[ alisha rolls her eyes. she only suggested it! it's proper dog naming protocol, isn't it?

she shrugs it off, because talking about herself isn't something she usually does with anyone in community service. she just watches him pay attention to eli. ] Once. When I was a kid. It was like a massive ball of fluff always running towards me.

[ she bends down to continue scratching behind eli's ears, smiling. ] This one isn't as fluffy. [ she glances to curtis. time to take the spotlight off of her. ] What about you?

[mrbackwards]

[ he doesn't watch her as she speaks. alisha's never been one to just open up, and the last thing he wanted to do was make her feel uncomfortable. so he won't pick on her, or look, just listen. ]

Ankle-biter, yeah? [ he laughs. ]

Couple. Most of them were big, think we had one small one, though.

[awkwards]

[ she bets he lost the small one, what with him being so tall and all. ] It's better they bite your ankles than anything else.

[ while they talk about curtis, alisha can look at him. she never really knew he had a dog before, even when they were dating. although, they never really made much time for talking ... ]

Were they as big as this one?

[mrbackwards]

[ maybe :( ]

Don't bite if they're trained.

[ he looks over to her now, a small smile. this is definitely one of their smoother conversations, even if they're never really mad at each other. ]

Depended. Couple were bigger.

You know if this one is trained?

[ she can't tell by looking at him, but, then again, she's only had one dog in her lifetime. curtis is the expert here. ]

Think so. Been good since I found him earlier.

[ he gives a shrug because, lol, he knows. ]
