It's been a rough few days with that curse and all, so...

[Rather than find people to hug, Rita has set her device to video. And now she pulls it into her chest and hugs it, giving it a good half-minute squeeze before she pulls it away, face now red.]

Rita-san? Do you...do you need a hug? [He's not even sure why he's asking, seeing as he doesn't do that sort of thing, unless there's a Wormmon around.]

[Even Rita doesn't know why! She sputters a bit, waving her hands.]

No--I wasn't--if you come by- [Is she trying to say yes?]

[He's not accustomed to hugs himself, or one to give them, and yet, he's compelled to go see her when she puts it that way.]

Well, I might be walking on the beach now.

[This is one of the more bizarre compulsions she's had--hearing that, she almost wants to run right out the door.]

Really? So are you gonna stop by?

[Originally, he hadn't planned on it, but since this conversation started....]

Yes, I think I will. If that's alright?

Sure, it's no problem. You don't have somewhere you need to be, right?

No. I was merely out for a walk. [He hadn't intended to come this way originally, and the gardens could wait for later.]

In fact, I'm right outside your place.

That was pretty fast--all right, I'll let you in.

[And somehow, she's already moved to the door...Huh. Well, she goes ahead and opens it, waving.] So you came all the way to the beach for a walk? That's pretty far.

Originally I wasn't walking this way.... [He looks a little sheepish as he admits that. Strange compulsions today.]

Maybe you just decided to wander.

[Like how she's wandering closer. And without warning, reaches out to hug him.]

[It's awkward for him, since he doesn't do it often, but he definitely hugs Rita in return, and smiles sheepishly in the process.]

[Rita's face flushes crimson, even as she holds him in a pretty tight bear hug for several seconds. Then she finally loosens her arms and steps back.]

I--w-what did I do that for?

Probably the same reason I did.

[He looks away, blushing. It HAS to be some sort of a curse.]

I just felt like you needed it--I don't even know why.

[Definitely, definitely a curse. An embarrassing one!]

I felt like you needed one, too, since you were already hugging me.

[They were equal in this. Good. Now when was it going to end?]

W-well...I didn't, but...Thanks.

[Rita finally steps back, well and truly flustered.]

This is some curse...

Yes, it's...unusual for me.

I'm pretty sure it's unusual for most people... I mean, I guess hugging's okay between friends, but we don't a curse for that!

R-really? I...I don't really hug my friends, either. Actually, other than my family and Wormmon, that's the only hugging I've done in a long time.

Oh...really?

...Well, when you really do need it...

[She doesn't mind! As long as it's not a curse.]

Yes.

[Flustered look. He isn't accustomed to thinking of when he might need it, either. Although, Rita was right - he needed one. He just didn't know it.]

...well. Okay.... When I do.

It's just--it's what friends do!

[She says it firmly, trying to get around the embarrassment of both of them.]

Oh, I didn't know friends did that too.

[Yeah, there's enough embarrassment between them for four people.]

For now...I'll take my leave. This curse doesn't seem to be done yet.

Really? Well, now you do-

[And as if in response, Rita suddenly feels the compulsion to hug him again. A shorter one this time, at least.]

I-it's obviously not done... I'll see you later, okay?

[He at least, mildly, smiles to that, and doesn't brush her off, but hugs her again, as well.]

Yes, okay. I'll see you later.
