[There was a bright light, a sense that he was no longer in the Pillar Room, and then… the cold hard surface of the pavement beneath his hands. Eagle struggled to look up. The experience in Cephiro had been very draining but he was here, alive, he must have been found worthy enough to become the Pillar. ]

Where is…?

[This place looked nothing at all like Cephiro. It was too developed, to ‘City-like’. He didn‘t even notice the small device sitting by his side recording everything.]

Is this also part of the test? No… I think we were both able to leave the Pillar room, but if that is the case just where is this?

[He was talking to himself or so he thought but some random citizen ran over to hug him anyway. Eagle had to chuckle a bit as the random person left again.]

At least the people here are very friendly.

[She suddenly realized exactly what he was talking about and her eyes went wide. Still, she thought maybe telling him she was a coyote sometimes and that he was remembering drowning on a boat like the Titanic... well, might be better for another time. Still at least he was clearly remembering something and that gave her hope.]

Don't worry. Sometimes when people come back here it takes some time for their memories to return.

[Hm? Some thing he had said must have triggered that kind of reaction but the whole thing was still a bit confusing to him. A result of whatever strange magic pulled people away from their worlds as suddenly as that. It did have a tendency to leave people a bit dazed.]

I really wish I could remember it all. Then maybe I wouldn't be sitting here wondering how to get back to Cephiro, I would already know the way.

[At this point I am afraid telling him he can't get back will just ensure that he wants to get back quicker. ]

I can't allow that to happen. Cephiro is too important. I have to get back there are soon as I can.

[Oh yes... otherwise Eagle might end up fighting him as a rival trying to prevent him from becoming the Pillar. They have a complex relationship some times.]

I can assure you that when you do return it will be as if no time has passed there - almost as if this place is just a brief dream.

[He is uncertain how much of that to believe but that really probably is the best way to describe the City. ]

So you don't normally live here either? You were also pulled here from your world?

Exactly. And yes, this isn't my world. I just ended up here somehow.
