[ He can't imagine why. This McCoy needs to be worked on a bit, Spock. ]
They call them 'deities', though like hell they actually are. Seems they're in charge of bringing people here and what are referred to as 'curses'. No one's sure why they bring us in or why they like to play with us so much, but I'm sure you can come up with a few theories.
[He's your annoying, logical bro, Bones. It's all right, he understands.]
We've encountered such entities before, although--perhaps only I have. You are unquestionably younger. To be expected that we wouldn't necessarily come from the same times or timelines.
One such being, who behaved rather similarly, was actually a child, although he did not appear to be, which explained his childish behavior. I'd need more information before I could form anything so definite as a theory.
[He will respect McCoy's wishes for now, as that is not currently the most important matter at hand.]
Two months. [He considers all this information.] By monitoring transmissions on this communicator, I've determined that it's likely I will only be here for two days.
As you've been here longer and will likely be remaining, do you have any idea of how I might most productively spend that time, for your benefit?
[ He considers. His timeline's Chekov is fiddling with computers in the hospital, so that's out. What else...
Ah. ]
Actually, I do. Plenty of folks around here from other universes talk about, have, or use what they call magic. There's a little girl here, name of Ivy -- called the Archive. Apparently she knows everything there is to know back where she comes from, and here, so long as it's been recorded. Between the two of you, I think some sort of explanation might be able to be found.
Ah, magic. A human term, usually used to explain natural phenomena or exceptional abilities not yet sufficiently explained by science.
A child somehow possessing all recorded human knowledge? Fascinating. I would be quite willing to work with her, if you believe that would be of some benefit. Where might this Ivy be found?

[ Vague enough, maybe? Probably not, not for Spock. ]
They stick to themselves, mostly. They're human-like in appearance, but that's about all I know about them.

[He raises an eyebrow. Of course, Spock always needs to know more.]
Typical. Limiting our knowledge secures their hold over us. Until we can learn more, we will have no means of resisting. Is the captain here?

[ Too bad, Spock, he doesn't feel like sharing. ]
I've been here alone for almost two months now. I've got a few familiar faces chattin' me up now, but everyone's in the same boat.
...well, except my timeline's Chekov. Apparently he was here about three months ago for two days, which means he knows about as much as I do.

Just keep an eye on the network. She'll likely make a post; everyone else seems to be.
