And since there aren't any witches here, if the contract worked, that person wouldn't have to do any fighting.

But I could still make that person's wish come true.

That's just how it works. Even if I'm on a different planet, I can't change the rules. I'm not even sure that my power to grant wishes will work the same way here.

It's worth a try, though! You never know when a witch or some other evil thing might show up.

Granting wishes isn't a difficult thing for me to do. If I can spread hope to people here, too, why shouldn't I try?

But the wish doesn't have to be something big like that. It could be any little thing, really.

[Well would you look at that, a nice little Soul Gem just came right out of McCoy's chest.]

Take the Soul Gem in your hands, Leonard McCoy. The contract has been made.

With that Soul Gem, you'll be able to use your magical power. Of course, there aren't any witches here to fight, but surely you could find some other use for it.

[It ought to be easy enough, considering he's holding his soul in his hands. Kyubey watches intently. With the right amount of concentration, it should be easy enough for McCoy to activate the Soul Gem into magically manifesting his kawaii mahou shoujo costume battle uniform and weapon.]

[ Luckily for all involved parties, McCoy's battle uniform is simply his Starfleet uniform -- though dressier, silver stripes running over his chest. His weapon is a phaser rifle, but his medkit is there as well, a hypospray held in his other hand. ]

Interesting... I've never seen this magic used by someone who wasn't a young girl, but it seems to work the same way.
