[Dawn is sitting outside in the square with a coffee in hand, watching all the people pass by. She might be looking for certain people although she's trying not to get her hopes up. Her voice sounds into the audio device.]

I love these days! Last time I got to see Giles and it was super cool. He was still cleaning his classes and tsk-tsking and poo-pooing at us... which I kind of miss, actually. And Spike! He was here too. He needs no explanation. There's really no one else like Spike... except maybe Billy Idol.

Anyway, if anyone is all needing the me shaped person then you can find me in the Square doing pretty much nothing but watching people. Only not in a creepy stalker kind of way. Cause I'm not a creepy stalker. More in a I love seeing reunions kind of way, even when they aren't mine.

[Dawn looks up at the girl with a bright smile, ready to help with whatever. Except she's pretty sure she heard her wrong and needs to clarify before help can be given.]

You mean communicator, right? Or is that an accent thing cause accents are cool. I like accents.

Nope, it's Kimmunicator! Wade whipped it up for me. And generally it gets a signal, like, everywhere. Even inside the TV.

Oh! Well this is a pocket dimension so I don't think anything works in here from the outside, not communication wise. Like, you have to have the one they provide you here in the City. Which really, if you think about it, is good business for the people in charge. No competition and all that.

[And Dawn's pretty overjoyed at seeing Spike in the video screen and hearing his voice. She's pretty fond of him, old crushes aside. And well, at this point he's family.]

Spike! You're in the City with me! It's a pocket dimension, I think... I mean as far as I can tell. Now I'm trying to find you so I can give you a hug! You're not evil, right? Oh wait, you called me niblet. Nope, not evil. Where are you??

Not evil? Of course I'm evil! I'm just, you know, helping out. While...

[He trails off. The Dawn he left didn't look like this. So happy, full of life. Announcing welcome hugs.]

When was the last time you saw me?

Oh well there was the giant bug mobile with Twilight and the egg thingy that took all the magic away. Oh! And you've kind of been hanging around stalking Buffy again, only less with the stalk and more with the lurk and you being a sounding board for all her Slayer-y troubles. Personally, I like it when you aren't evil and you do the lurking thing. Buffy needs someone to talk to since her and Willow are doing less of the talking lately.

Bit, I got no idea what you're talkin' about. Don't remember anything about an egg... thingy. [Oh god, does she not know? But no--this can't be Dawn before Buffy died. How can it? She's all... big. Grown up, almost.]

[ finding herself in a city she was more than certain she'd never seen before - and considering how rare those were, it was quite disconcerting - wasn't exactly what helen magnus had on her agenda for the day. in fact, she'd been looking forward to a relaxing evening of catching up on her abnormal reading. but instead, here she is, in her suit from the conference she'd just returned from, wandering around while trying to get her bearings.

there are quite a lot of people around, none she recognises. eventually, she spots someone who looks a little friendlier than most of these confused faces - though a bit young for her tastes. deciding to take her chances, she moves forward, towards the girl. ]

Excuse me. Would you happen to know where exactly this is?

[ note the very british accent, dawn. ]

[Dawn is very fond of accents in general, but more so of the British accent. Part of that might be because she found comfort in it with Giles after her mom was gone. And part of it might be that it was just sexy on Spike. In any case, she soaks the accent up like a sponge and smiles as she looks up to the source.]

Yes! I do! Well... kind of. It's technically a pocket dimension, and who really knows where any of those are logistically, right? But it's called the City. Lame name for a place, I know. But it's still the City. And you're in it for the day!

[She holds out a hand in greeting.] I'm Dawn.

[ lucky for dawn this woman is as british as giles. perhaps more so given her age. she frowns a bit at the information, not sure she really buys the dimension thing - really - but she'll take what she can get at this point. she grasps dawn's hand firmly and shakes it with what smile she can gather. ]

Helen Magnus. It's very nice to meet you, Dawn. May I? [ she indicates that she's asking if it's all right to sit down with dawn. ] If you don't mind, I have a few other questions I had hoped someone might be able to answer for me.

[She knows it's a lot to take in for most people. Dawn's always existed in the land of the weird so things like pocket dimensions are completely plausible to her. She remembers Anya's tirades about dimensions all too well.

She nods as Helen sits next to her, glad for the company.] Oh I'm all for being answer girl for the questions... which, hopefully, I know the answers to said questions. Fire away... with words.

[ oh helen exists in the land of weird, as well, but her land of weird involves science. she's never heard of dimensional abilities before, but considering adam worth's ability with time manipulation, she supposes she shouldn't be surprised.

she takes a seat sort of close by dawn, close enough to talk but not so close as to encroach on either of their personal space bubbles. helen's was rather large to begin with anyway. she takes her time figuring out how to word her questions so someone who hasn't spent an entire lifetime or two buried in the scientific field would understand. ]

You mentioned a pocket dimension. Does that involve a pocket of time and space that's separate from... whatever reality we know to exist? As though someone picked out a piece of jello and placed it somewhere else on their plate? It still exists in relation to ours, but it's no longer part of ours?

Can you clarify the bit about reunions?

Sure! Reunions. You know... seeing people you know who you haven't seen in what feels like a long, long time. Hugging and catching up and all that jazz.

Nice to know Giles will always be Giles, no matter what alternate dimension he gets tossed into.

As for Spike, Billy Idol obviously did it first.

[Who ever thought Dawn would be glad to hear Cordelia's voice. Of course she hadn't seen her since Buffy graduated from high school so it's been forever. But really, anything familiar is fantastic right now.]

Some things never change! The sun always rises and sets. Tuesday comes after Monday. Giles compulsively cleans his glasses. Spike abuses hair dye.

We can't get an S.O.S. out! At least I don't think we can. I should really ask around to see if anyone's found a way to get a message out.

But I think Buffy kind of likes it here with the lack of apocalypses and people dying and stuff. It's kind of like a vacation for her with only the occasional big bad to kill.
