[ 81st consult | video ]
[The video feed cuts on abruptly, and the view is simply a blur of motion. It lands on the floor of the hallway hospital, and when it comes to rest (after hitting the ground and spinning a bit), it's pointed at the office of one Doctor James Wilson.
For his part, Wilson is rapidly retreating from that office. Probably because, within the office, a combination of paperwork and a selection of the small knick-knacks that decorate his office are being tossed about. He slams the door behind him, standing with his back against it for a moment while taking a few rapid breaths. When he seems to have regained composure (and probably calmed his heart rate a bit), he starts glancing around the hallway - and his eyes lock on the device. He walks over and picks it up, giving a weary sigh as he turns it off.]
[ooc: Open to action if your character would be at the hospital. I'm posting from work just before leaving, and going out tonight, so tags will be delayed... and my slowatus is still in effect :( But... I LOVE YOU GUYS?]

action;
[ He really ought to remember that, considering how many antiques are in this hospital. ]
Maybe the City'll do it for you.
action;
Maybe. I suppose it's not really worth worrying about the damage until after midnight, at any rate.
action;
... You don't think there are other animals in the hospital somewhere, do you?
action;
... I really want to think that we'd have heard about it, if they were in more sensitive areas.
[Which isn't the same as saying "no"]
Of course, it wouldn't hurt to make sure everyone is alert and aware of the curse.
action;
[ Poisonous snakes. ]
We'd better get moving.
action;
[Not that he disagrees, or isn't being overcome by anxious concern; he nods his agreement.]
Let's. [Ready to move, but a glance back at the office door.] I think as long as the door stays locked, this ought to be all right, but I'll make sure there's an eye kept on it.
action;
Maybe a "do not enter" sign would be good. If there are more of those in the City, we might have a busy day. Let's hope no one gets on the wrong side of a crocodile.
action;
[It was more entertaining watching it. :| ]
So, make sure everyone's on the alert and find out just how short-handed the ER is today. [He nods with a sardonic little smirk.] That is about par for the course.
action;
[ He returns that smirk with a slight one of his own. Wilson's more mild-mannered, but there's a kindred there nonetheless. ]
Hope we have rabies vaccines.
action;
[There's a short little exhale of a laugh, something between a snort and a breath.]
We certainly should. And at least a few interdimensional varieties thereof.
action;
[ Antique medicine. Who would've thought. ]
One of these days I'll find some more tools from home.
action;
[Which, at least, he knows he didn't when he left and came back. But he glances up at that second bit, tilting his head a bit in a slight nod.]
You know, that I'd like to see.
action;
[ He didn't either, but then, he was only home for a few minutes. ]
I've got a crewmember here who might be able to help create a few things. Maybe. [ Pause. ] He's seventeen.
action;
[So many differences from the show he remembers.]
Must be a talented seventeen. I was proud of being able to program our VCR when I was seventeen.
[The archaic technology is mentioned on purpose. He figures he'd find it funny if he were from the future.]
action;
[ McCoy has a lot of feelings about letting seventeen year olds serve active duty on starships. None of them are good.
Still, Wilson's comment does get a chuckle out of him. ]
He's the ship's navigator but he's damn good at engineering. He's been trying to build a replicator.
action;
[Oh, he certainly knows what that is. And he's, perhaps, more inclined to latch onto that than to consider the problems with a seventeen year old on a starship. Maybe because he has no idea what they've just been through, or maybe you can just blame it on Next Gen. At any rate, he's stuck on the idea of seeing a replicator for real.]
You mean a replicator like, you tell it what you want, and it just manifests it replicator?
action;
Yeah. Food's not always the best coming from it, but the kid's convinced he can work that out.
action;
If he can, I'd say having that sort of device on hand would be worth a few bland meals.
