[ And Tyr's very annoyed voice as he tries to shoo away the two long-hair cats that are rubbing against his legs as he stands at the kitchen counter. ]

This isn't even— Sindar!

[ And a second later, another cat is plopped to the floor with the other two. ]

I don't know how Luc put up with you...

I'm sure there is. It is just the the library can be a little difficult to navigate. It is something about the magic there. If it doesn't want you to be able to find a book then you won't be able to find it.

I thought there would be some resistance, since they went to all of the trouble to bring us here I didn't think they would make it easy to leave, but I wasn't prepared for the level of power the city can really produce. That barrier alone must consume massive amounts of energy to produce counterattacks as powerful as the one I witnessed.

What do you mean?

The power itself probably comes from us; that's why no-one's magic is as powerful as it is back home. The barrier is probably powered by taking everyone's magic to some degree.

I once attacked the city's barrier in an attempt to get back to Cephiro, but the barrier leveled a counterattack against me before I could break through.

And that is the same conclusion I came to. The only way to destroy the barrier would have been to destroy everyone here. As much as I wanted to return I couldn't justify doing something like that.

I was watching that to see how much progress they made. Sadly I really didn't think it would get them anywhere but at least they managed to arrive back here safely enough.
