It's been an interesting couple of days, hasn't it?

I wonder what this weekend will be like.

Think I'm gonna try not to speculate too much. I'm always wrong when I do.

Colourful, by the look of... everything.

My sister Desi would say you just jinxed us by wishing that, pretty girl.

Leaving your imprint on all things and perhaps people? Some might only call it possessive, or obsessive, or psychopathic, yes.

Ugly.

No, I believe we...skin defilers. That, or burn them, I do so fail to keep record.

I'm kind of afraid to make guesses about the weekend. Like, maybe I'll jinx it or something.

Callous, cruel, tyrannic, and humourless. Those are the words you want.

That wouldn't be so bad. As long as there's not any sand...

It's short for Desiree', and she's a handful. Mine isn't so interesting. Derek. Derek Morgan. What's your name?

Of what land, or what sire, hmmm?

Me too.

There probably wasn't that much sand to deal with back home, huh?

Nice to meet you, Amanda.

[He laughs a bit.] Oh no, got two older sisters, Sarah's the oldest. Desi's in the middle and I'm the baby. And don't think I don't play being the youngest one up as much as possible.

From Chicago originally. Live in the D.C. area now... or... back home I live in the D.C. area. What about you?

Definitely never a dull moment. I've known some only kids and I think it's one of the few things I can't imagine. You close to your parents?

I worked for the FBI, Behavioral Analysis Unit. Time-consuming job, but we get to put the bad guys away so... worthwhile.

[And here he hesitates. He knows there are people here who travel in space, but it never ceases to catch him off guard.] A ship in space, huh? I bet that's a nice view. I'm guessing that's not in an astronaut going to the moon and back sense but in an actual space travel way.

Steel and technology? You can tell me if I'm being too nosy, but what's it like where you're from?
anunluckypenny: [so they say] (Waiting)

[personal profile] anunluckypenny 2012-03-27 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
It sounds like a nice place. Is it a city, or a... I don't know, town, or village, or moon colony...?

[You never know.]

Not so much, although you can get to sand pretty easily. L.A. has more trash than sand. Oh--I mean, the part I'm from. Parts of it are really nice.
anunluckypenny: [rapture inside of me] (Smile: Bright)

[personal profile] anunluckypenny 2012-03-27 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, wow. That's cooler than a moon colony. What do you do on it?

Yeah, there's... yeah, it's not so great, but I'm--I mean, was--with some groups that're trying to raise awareness about the state of the environment, so I'm sure it'll get better. And Venice Beach, yes! I love it. You've been there?
anunluckypenny: [so they say] (Waiting)

[personal profile] anunluckypenny 2012-03-28 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
That's neat. So you did a little of everything. [She won't push for answers.]

It's really nice, if you ever get a chance. My favorite place? Probably this little park that's not too far from my apartment. It's not big or a tourist attraction or anything, but there's a duck pond.
anunluckypenny: [rapture inside of me] (Believes there's good)

[personal profile] anunluckypenny 2012-03-28 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure you did plenty, and that makes sense. I guess space wouldn't be for everyone.

What About the Oceans was my favorite, I think--that's a really active group. We got a bunch of vendors around the beach to ditch styrofoam and plastic and use biodegradable materials, picked up trash... things like that. [She has to think about that for a moment.] I don't think so? None that I've heard of. But pollution doesn't seem to be a problem here. I don't know if the deities keep the City clean or if everyone's just a lot more environmentally aware here than at home.

Parents are good for support, the good ones are anyway.

[He laughs and shakes his head.] Just a few, especially back in my beat cop days. Mostly in the BAU we work serial cases, homicide, arson, abductions... Most of that work is done in offices and on the scene of the crime. I still get in a good chase every now and then though. Gets the adrenaline going.

Hey, that's really cool. I got a friend back home named Reid who would eat all that space stuff up. So you traveled... from Earth? Doing what? Just exploring or...?

[personal profile] anunluckypenny 2012-03-30 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
I know I'd be too afraid to go. I like staying on the ground. A lot.

Really? That's so cool, thinking that it exists in different universes. I don't know about the deities, though. I haven't seen any of them and I definitely haven't seen any of them magic-ing away trash or... I don't know, encouraging people to choose paper over plastic.
