It's been an interesting couple of days, hasn't it?

I wonder what this weekend will be like.

Me too.

There probably wasn't that much sand to deal with back home, huh?

Steel and technology? You can tell me if I'm being too nosy, but what's it like where you're from?

It sounds like a nice place. Is it a city, or a... I don't know, town, or village, or moon colony...?

[You never know.]

Not so much, although you can get to sand pretty easily. L.A. has more trash than sand. Oh--I mean, the part I'm from. Parts of it are really nice.

Oh, wow. That's cooler than a moon colony. What do you do on it?

Yeah, there's... yeah, it's not so great, but I'm--I mean, was--with some groups that're trying to raise awareness about the state of the environment, so I'm sure it'll get better. And Venice Beach, yes! I love it. You've been there?

That's neat. So you did a little of everything. [She won't push for answers.]

It's really nice, if you ever get a chance. My favorite place? Probably this little park that's not too far from my apartment. It's not big or a tourist attraction or anything, but there's a duck pond.
anunluckypenny: [rapture inside of me] (Believes there's good)

I'm sure you did plenty, and that makes sense. I guess space wouldn't be for everyone.

What About the Oceans was my favorite, I think--that's a really active group. We got a bunch of vendors around the beach to ditch styrofoam and plastic and use biodegradable materials, picked up trash... things like that. [She has to think about that for a moment.] I don't think so? None that I've heard of. But pollution doesn't seem to be a problem here. I don't know if the deities keep the City clean or if everyone's just a lot more environmentally aware here than at home.

I know I'd be too afraid to go. I like staying on the ground. A lot.

Really? That's so cool, thinking that it exists in different universes. I don't know about the deities, though. I haven't seen any of them and I definitely haven't seen any of them magic-ing away trash or... I don't know, encouraging people to choose paper over plastic.
