Well that's a little complicated. Don't think I ever did see much sand. But there probably could be. It was more like steel and technology. It was just so endless.
Oh, wow. That's cooler than a moon colony. What do you do on it?
Yeah, there's... yeah, it's not so great, but I'm--I mean, was--with some groups that're trying to raise awareness about the state of the environment, so I'm sure it'll get better. And Venice Beach, yes! I love it. You've been there?
That's neat. So you did a little of everything. [She won't push for answers.]
It's really nice, if you ever get a chance. My favorite place? Probably this little park that's not too far from my apartment. It's not big or a tourist attraction or anything, but there's a duck pond.
Kind of, yes. Wish I could've done more. [One day Penny, one day.] It's not for everyone though. A lot others really don't like the ship all that much.
Perhaps one day. Now that just sounds nice. Nothing like knowing of a little place of your own. So you mentioned environmental groups...Which ones are you apart of? Or were rather. Are there any here?
I'm sure you did plenty, and that makes sense. I guess space wouldn't be for everyone.
What About the Oceans was my favorite, I think--that's a really active group. We got a bunch of vendors around the beach to ditch styrofoam and plastic and use biodegradable materials, picked up trash... things like that. [She has to think about that for a moment.] I don't think so? None that I've heard of. But pollution doesn't seem to be a problem here. I don't know if the deities keep the City clean or if everyone's just a lot more environmentally aware here than at home.
Thank you Penny. It really isn't. Kind of takes a certain type of person.
Think I might have heard of them. That's nice. Interesting. Imagine that the Deities actually cleaning the city up with magic. It's a thought. Have you ever seen any of them around?
I know I'd be too afraid to go. I like staying on the ground. A lot.
Really? That's so cool, thinking that it exists in different universes. I don't know about the deities, though. I haven't seen any of them and I definitely haven't seen any of them magic-ing away trash or... I don't know, encouraging people to choose paper over plastic.

There probably wasn't that much sand to deal with back home, huh?

It's very...free. There's so much to read up on and see. I just love it. I'd even say that it's better than my place of birth.
What about where you're from? Do they deal with much sand there?
no subject
[You never know.]
Not so much, although you can get to sand pretty easily. L.A. has more trash than sand. Oh--I mean, the part I'm from. Parts of it are really nice.

Lots of pollution then? I'm sorry to hear it. Have you been to Venice Beach?

I helped out when the crew when the need arose. Mostly on steering the ship, engineering and a medical procedure most recently.
No, I haven't I'm afraid but I always hear good things about it. What's your favorite place in L.A.?
