[He opens and shuts the door quietly, stepping inside a few feet before standing with his hands clasped behind his back to keep him from wringing them anxiously. He says nothing, because his father knows it is him, and at the moment he is too on edge to speak well.]

[Jezebel shuts his eyes to hide the wince in his expression, but he does as he's told. This will not be quick, nor does he think it deserves to be -- after yesterday's indignity, he has no right to complain.

He shucks his coat and undoes the buttons to his shirt, taking them off with the practiced ease who has done this for decades. When he finishes, he leaves the clothes in a pile on the ground.]

He lays the flat of his palms against the surface of the wall and tries to relax his muscles, because tensing them will only make this even more excruciating than it has to be.]
