015: AUDIO

Does anyone really believe the devil made them do it?

Then, why should we be comfortable applying that logic to curses?

[Well. Here's the Devil. No, really. Just undercover currently.]

People will blame anyone, it it makes them feel less guilty.

That's why the devil exists in the first place.

I don't think anything about it is comfortable.

Deals with the devil in the real world don't generate as much paperwork.

There's more evidence to suggest that curses are caused by an external agent.

Some people do, I'm sure.

There are sides to people that they fear confronting.

Safer for them, I think, to hide behind denial.

The curses take people's reason, alter their perceptions.

The results, however these effects are caused, are as if these people have been fed incredibly powerful psychoactive drugs against their will. I would hardly consider them to blame.

[He wasn't a victim of the recent curse (fortunately for everyone), but he thinks this is absurd.]

I think people blame the curses, or whatever causes them, because it gives them the illusion that they're in control of what's happening to them, when there not. ...which is pretty weird to say, considering the curses function around a total lack of control. It's more being able to put a label on that lack of control than the lack itself. If you can label it, it's less scary, you know?

Due to the presence of forseeable magic in one version versus the other, I suspect.

Though I take it you're not the superstitious sort.
