I gotta say, I ain't never seen a city like this before.

[After that observation, he takes a moment to adjust his hat and clear his throat.] Assuming I'm usin' this thing correctly, and assumin' likewise that any of y'all out there can hear me... The name's Elijah Morgan, the Elijah Morgan, best damn hunter of fey on either side of the Atlantic. I was en route to the States last I recall, but it seems there's been some kinda...mishap, I guess. Now, I had some important business waitin' for me back in America, so if someone would kindly show me the way outta here, that would be very much appreciated.

Secondly, ah... If anyone happens to see a big guy in a black mask and veil, maybe carryin' around a big ol' spear, that would be my partner. [A beat.] Work partner. His name's Aðalgeir and he ain't much of a talkative type, so if any of y'all would let me know where he is, that would also be very much appreciated.

[After another pause:] Geir, if you can hear this yourself, I need you to contact me pronto. I'm near this big fountain right now, but I ain't stickin' around long. [And the connection cuts out.]

That would depend on your definition. It appears to vary from place to place, and there are a great deal of places feeding into this City.

So I've gathered.

What I mean by fey is magical critters. The kind that can use magicks without havin' to be taught or carved.

Demons, fairies, kobolds, and the like? Yes, I'm familiar of course. Although in my world it is somewhat frowned upon to hunt them.

I don't hunt 'em for sport. I hunt 'em when I'm hired to, when humans need 'em dealt with.

Ain't everybody that can deal with 'em, after all.

The fact that you've been hired to still speaks of a world less that favourable toward the magical creatures, I would imagine.

Well of course, but that's because most other people are utterly useless.

Ain't about favor. Everybody's gotta do what they can to survive, no matter where y'are. [And he's not going to comment on that other bit.]

So the fey are highly dangerous in your world, are they?

[feycarved]

Not always, least not any more than any normal creature. But them that are can be hell and a half to deal with if y'ain't got the means to keep 'em away or defend yourself.

All sounds rather iffy to me. I've had some rather good friends who would more than likely fall into that 'fey' category.

Well, ain't nothin' stoppin' 'em from makin' trouble for human folk the same way any other human could, so it don't make a difference in the work I do.
