Hello, City. It's a beautiful day outside. I went for a nice run and found myself in with the creatures again. I really do enjoy the zoo. The creatures in it seem so lonely though and I thought I might encourage people to go visit them to keep them company. They enjoy a nice visit and a good chat and I'm certain anyone else would find visiting them enjoyable as well.

But what I am really curious about is the welcome center. I'd like to speak with people who work there, if I could, and of course if you're free.

Gorgeous day. Donna does some work there, She ought to be able to help you out.

Oh, I'll have to speak with Donna then if she has a free moment. Maybe I could take her for frappucinos as you do for me sometimes here and there.

Think she'd like that. 'Sides always a good time for frappucinos.

I think so too. Although my other dad said that you shouldn't have introduced me to them. He might have been joking. Sometimes it's difficult to tell.

Which one? With the hair or the jacket? They make you sorta hyper but that's all right most of the time.

The one with the jacket that lives right down the hall from us. But guess what, Rose Tyler? He promised we could have fish and chips together sometime. Won't that be wonderful?

Best food to have. That was him and my's first date, y'know. We had chips on the docks in London after he'd taken me to see the end of the world.[There's no jealousy there, not like there might be if Jenny were one of the companions. She's glad she's doing things with both of her dads. It was more of a just sharing good memories with her.]

You're dating him too? But I thought... [Jenny stops there because this might be one of those times where a word didn't mean what she thought it meant and she should ask her dads about it. She would ask Rose but it might be Rose she's misunderstanding and she wants Rose to keep liking her.]

That sounds lovely. You could come have fish and chips with us too, but not a date as it would be three and not two.

No, I'm not datin' him. He's just my best mate. [Misunderstanding her relationship with the Doctors is definitely not going to change Rose liking her.] I met him first, y'know? And he's got all the memories the one that lives with us has so, m'not datin' that Doctor but everything I've got with the one that lives with us, started with him.

It's confusin'. I know.

[Rose smiles and nods.] Sometime, I will. You ought to have time with just your Dad too. All of 'em.

Oh, I understand that much. They each look different but they're all the same man, just in different forms. I like that very much. I wonder why I kept this form when I woke up. Do you know why that is? Maybe my dads™ know.

Then you understand it.[So maybe Jenny will get it more than anyone else. It's kind of a relief really.]

Once, I saw your Dad sorta...half regenerate. The one that lives with us. He said he didn't need to regenerate all the way, just enough to fix what was wrong with him. He'd been shot by a Dalek. He didn't want to change forms and he didn't have to 'cause the damage wasn't that extensive. Maybe that's why?

[She's guessing really but it makes sense to her.]

That could be true. Perhaps I wasn't completely dead yet when I came back to life. I like that idea, not being completely dead, only dead enough to come back to life.

[Of course now she's curious about you, Rose.] Have you ever regenerated, Rose Tyler? Are you like my dads™?

Oh! Me. No. 'm just... human. When I die, I'll stay dead.

[And now she's in a funk because she will die and the Doctor won't.]

You'll stay with him, yeah? No matter what?

Oh I'll always be with him if I can be. And if we get lost from one another, I'll look for him until I find him again.

[And she means it.]

[The smile Rose gives her is a grateful one. She hates the thought of leaving the Doctor, even through dying, but it does help to know that someone will be with him.]

Good. He needs people with him.

That's why he's always picking people up all over the place isn't it? Because he needs people. If I were him, I would do the same. And he really does pick up the most amazing people. I've enjoyed every one of his friends I've met so far.

S'xactly. He gets lonely and travelin' is better with two.

[She smiles a bit at the compliment and nods.] He picks brilliant people then sorta...shows 'em how brilliant they are.

Maybe he can do the same for me. Although I suppose he already did in a small way, showing me that there's always a choice one way or another.

Jenny, you are brilliant. In every way. And if I could hug you right now, I would.

[And now she's going to sulk a bit more because she can't hug her.]

We'll hug a lot when we can. I like hugging. It's even better than hand holding, I think. Which do you like better?

[There's not even a pause in her answer. She knows which one she likes the most if given the choice.]

The creatures do look lonely, don't they? Maybe we could set them free!

I've mentioned that several times and everyone continually tells me it would be bad to allow them their freedom. I'm unsure why freedom could ever be a bad thing.

Really? Hmm. Maybe they think they're dangerous! It makes sense to be careful when you don't have any horns or scales or claws.

Oh I don't have any of those, horns, scales or claws. [Good thing no one saw her just check to make sure.] But I do suppose that some of those could be very dangerous were that creature to feel threatened in some way. For the most part they seem quite peaceful. Have you spent any time in here with them?

I went once before! It's got a pretty amazing collection.

It does! Creatures from all over the place! I'm getting to the point where I know exactly what they are without having to read the description of them because I go so often to the zoo to visit them. And the weather lately has been so lovely for it.

I'm Penny, just Penny, no other name. Who are you?

Haha, maybe I should go more often! I don't think I've memorized them all quite yet.

And I'm Elmer! Elmer C. Albatross. Nice to meet you!

Did you meet the Unicorn? [Don't mind the sudden girly tone. Seriously. Charlie is still in shock there's a Unicorn at the damn zoo.] Next time you go to the zoo, can I go with you?

[Jenny might bounce up and down a few times. She can't help it.] I have! I'd never even heard of a unicorn before arriving here. But everyone was speaking about how amazing it was, albeit a bit temperamental, and I just had to see it. Lovely creature. I'm not sure why anyone doesn't like it. I've had a few conversations with it and it seems quite the character.

You spoke to it? [Holy shit.] Oh, that's the neatest thing I've ever heard.

Of course! It just needs a little attention and it's quite happy. Most creatures do. Even you and I!

Oh, I work there!

And it really is nice out. Not a cloud or a curse in sight!

You do? I'd like to work there as well. It was mentioned by a new friend of mine that I might be a good fit for them. I've never tried welcoming people before but I think I might be able to quite well.

I'm really surprised that there haven't been more people out and about to enjoy it! What have you done to enjoy the day?

I think you'd be really good at it! There's not, like... an application process, or anything, so I'm sure it'd be fine if you just came by and asked if you could help. There're plenty of jobs to do, too. I do a lot of inside-stuff; being a greeter doesn't work too well if you're kind of shy. Oh, but you don't seem shy, so that shouldn't be a problem, right?

Me too! I've--well, I haven't done anything exciting. Errands and things, so plenty of walking around outside in the sunshine.

Oh I'm not shy at all! I talk to all sorts of people. Sometimes I get a bit lost in the conversation as I've little experience with much of anything but I'm learning to pretend I understand things and ask about them later.

This was an idea my dad had. He said I can ask him about anything I don't understand so I'm going to make lists as things come up.

That's the way to do it--pretend you know what people're saying and then figure it out later. Is it okay if I ask why you don't have much experience with things, Jenny?

You have good dads, you know.

It's very much alright. I was created, you see, a grown adult just as you've seen me before. But I was only created as a soldier, with knowledge of war strategy, battle tactics and weapon schematics. Otherwise, I'm very... I'm not stupid by any means but I've yet to experience anything but war and I barely even experienced that much. So I'm learning as I go, all these new wonderful things in this place. I'm enjoying it very much and lucky for me I'm a very quick learner.

My dads™ are the best people I've ever met. He stopped the war, the one I was created from with his DNA. He stopped the war on Messaline between us and the Hath. Isn't that brilliant? Just with his words, he stopped it.

I remember the part about being created to fight, but wow... not getting to see what life's like? That's awful. I'm really glad you're here.

That's the best way to end wars, I think. Just with words.

I'm very glad that I'm here too. I get to do so many things, meet so many people and creatures. And I have family here. It's quite lovely, really. Do you have friends and family here, Penny?

It really must be nice, especially with both of your dads around. [She hesitates ever so slightly.] Oh, um... I don't really have family anywhere, but I've made a bunch of amazing friends here--including you.

You can be a part of my family! I think you'd really enjoy it. My dad's are always picking up people all over the place and they all become like family. We could be like sisters.

[Oh, Jenny, you're going to make her cry.] Really? You don't think they'd mind?

You'd be an incredible sister.

I would? [Oh, Jenny is pretty much beaming at that compliment. She loves her makeshift family so much and Penny would be a perfect addition to that.] Oh I don't think they would mind at all! They love new people, especially new people who are good. And you seem very good to me!

I really think you would, and thank you so, so, so much. I can't even begin to tell you how much it means to me that you think I'm good enough to be a part of your family.
