[Video/Action Post]

[Demyx is out and about in the Square today. If you happen upon him, he may be walking, or playing on his sitar. However, as he does, he seems to be muttering something. If you go closer, you realize that every step he takes, he says,] One, two, three, f- one, two, three, f- [When he tires of walking around like this; sporadically, he does the same thing with the playing of his sitar. He strums, and plays chords in this same stagnant way. He tries to play a song, but he can't get it out, and he gives up.]

I guess it's probably a curse?

I guess. Did you forget how to count or something?

What! No, I know how to count. [Roxas. He is pouting now, and it is all your fault.] It's because of the curse! It's like I have to do everything in little bits of three.

Well, kinda three.

[NUH-UH.]

Kinda three? But not four.

Well, uh. [He thinks about it, for precisely- well, you know.] Yeah. Almost four, but not.

It's really weird? I don't know why it's going on.

Huh. Well...all curses are pretty weird, if you think about it.

[sitaronthewater]

Yeah, tell me about it. Although, this one I don't even really understand what it is.

It'll probably go away tomorrow. Three-ish counting isn't so bad until then.

Yeah, that's true. I guess I can handle that until then.

It's a band, Demyx.

One day I'm taking you to the music store and we are just gonna listen to things.

[sitaronthewater]

Oh.

Well, hey, alright, sure. You can come in when I'm on break. I work there, you know.

Oh, yeah, that's right.

What kind of music do you usually listen to?

[sitaronthewater]

Well, some of the other employees told me to listen to 'Classical'. It doesn't have any singing, but it's pretty good! Oh, and Time Bomb obviously.

[Gazelle had been going to the store when one, two, no three things grabbed her attention away from her little quest. The third of which was the odd music coming from the sitar in the distance. She followed the sound until she spotted the sitarist. Unsure of what to make of his playing, she stopped near by to watch in a curious amazement until the very moment he gave up. Only then did she beeline over to him, full of questions and all smiles.]

Hey! How did you do that? What is that? [And she points to the sitar.] That was sorta cool!

[sitaronthewater]

[Oh. Woah, excited girl! He looked up from his position leaning up against the fountain. He pouted in confusion at the first question.] Do what? And- my sitar? [He holds it up, looking down at it for a moment, before looking up at her again.] Yeah? I mean, I don't really agree, though. I kind of can't get anything out of it today. Because of the curse.

Yeah! [She nods as if she's agreeing with something.]

The sitar? --You were still able to make that noise with it.

[... Blink!]

What curse?

[sitaronthewater]

Well, yeah, I guess. But I'm usually able to actually play it. [He pouts, frustrated.] It's not even really playing it, now.

[He tilts his head to one side.] The curse. There's some, uh, number-related curse, I think it is? It's probably got something to do with some holiday, I've never heard of it before, though.

[virginwings]

Oh, I see... [She says with a bummed out tone, but it doesn't last for long.] If you can play more than that, maybe you let me hear more when there isn't a curse!

[sitaronthewater]

[He picks up in the change of tone, but he has no idea why she does. Oh well, he brightens up at the suggestion.] Well yeah, sure! I mean, I'm even in a band and everything. We're called Time Bomb. You should listen out for- uh, no, wait. What was it? you should watch- You should pay attention-

Uh, there's some phrase Curt says. But, we're called Time Bomb! And we've got a CD thing.

Oh, c-- a CD thing? [ummm, she doesn't know what that is.]

action!

[sitaronthewater]

Oh, uh. Those are like, these silver discs that play music? I forget what it stands for, but they're pretty neat.

[virginwings]

Huh. You're gonna have to show me...sometime.

action!

[sitaronthewater]

Yeah, it's like, some sort of disc that has music on it. And if you have a CD player, then you can play the CDs on it.

[Demyx doesn't really know either. Shh, don't tell.]

Uh....hey.

[ Sora is still a little awkward around Demyx even after having moved in with him and Roxas for a while now; it's hard to not be awkward around someone whose demise you're responsible for though. What's even more difficult is that Sora can easily see himself getting along with Demyx otherwise, which makes him feel that much worse for what he did, even though at the time it seemed the right thing to do, or at least necessary. He peers down at the blond's feet, curious. ]

What's the counting for?

PLEASE, YOU'RE FINE, I literally backdate into forever.

[Awkward is probably a good word to describe their relationship. They don't talk much, if at all; not if Demyx can avoid it. But right now he's staring up at him, and there's really no reason not to. Besides, he still remembers their pre-move-in talk. And Sora's still the first non-Organization member he let into the apartment.

It doesn't mean that it's still not awkward, though.]

I'm cursed, somehow. It's really weird. I can't do anything without counting it outloud, but I can always only get up to three. [A pause, for exactly GUESS HOW LONG, before ammending.] Well, three-ish.

That...is weird. [ Sora's mind both for better and for worse can run with just about anything, and it takes this new information, applies it to various hypothetical situations - food in threes, can anyone sleep in threes?, and then there's the matter of shoes... He blinks, staring first at Demyx's feet then back to his face.

In truth the more he thinks of what happened, the worse he feels about it, but maybe the most difficult thing is that a part of him that says he had no choice. Sora's not a volatile person per se and so it wouldn't be accurate to say these separations in him war with each other. It's not that active. But his thoughts do circulate repeatedly and Sora, whenever he looks at Demyx, has the knee-jerk reaction of a feeling that is bad and borderline regretful, and then a stubborn defensiveness that says he had to do what he did. Neither seems quite right.

Pausing, he rubs the back of his head, a slight fidget. ]

Uh...is it keeping you from doing something or getting something?
