What's the point of a city without cabs?

What, according to you, is the point of a city with cabs?

Convenience. Efficiency. Hygiene. Would "the view" have sufficed, or shall I continue?

Those are advantages of having cabs, but hardly the purpose behing a city, with or without cabs.

'Point' not purpose. It may function, but it doesn't function well.

Do you consider the lack of cabs a worse impediment than the curses?
