Has anybody tried to alter the network devices to boost the signal? Rose and I were discussing it when everybody was split up between the two cities - I figured that if you took them apart and linked the transmitters, the signal might be stronger, but the problem is, of course, getting multiple devices. I'm not sure how long it takes for the City to provide you with a new one if you destroy the old one. It's too bad that you can't salvage the devices others leave behind, hmm?

And is it possible to make them do other things? I'm not sure what other functions they could add, but I'm sure there's something that could be done. I think Rose mentioned hers having a tracker, yeah? Seems like that sort of thing might come in handy.

I haven't started yet, but I'm planning on it. I just wanted feedback from people who've been here longer than I have.

Not as far as I know, but I could be wrong. Ending up in a City made of glass for a couple weeks sort of prevented me from investigating the available technology.

And you were... in a City, made of glass. There's another City?

The City split into two a couple weeks ago - there was a City where everything was like it is now, except made entirely of glass, and a City that was just...a big desert. Some people ended up in one, some ended up in the other, and it was difficult, but not impossible, to cross between the two.

Far as I know, mine's the only one that's been boosted and had the tracker added, but there could be other people that have it sorta on the down low.

You said the Doctor did it with a sonic screwdriver, right? I built a sonic resonator once, but I doubt that's exactly the same thing.

Yeah. It's got different settin's that do different things. He'd be able to tell you more 'bout it though.

M'not sure what a sonic resonator is, but 'm impressed.

I'll have to ask him - which one was it? [Because she's still kind of embarrassed over that whole curse that made her fall hopelessly in love with Nine, whoops. Not that he ever found out about it, but still.]

Oh, it just sort of amplifies sound waves. I had a blueprint to make it, so it wasn't terribly difficult. [What she's not saying, of course, was that the blueprints were wrong.]

I'm not sure, but I think it would be interesting to try. I'll have to take a look at Rose's and see how it works.
