[ all the music's stopped. thank god. that was like living below incredibly noisy neighbors who wouldn't shut their music off. not that liz had ever experienced that back home in roswell, but her the family who lived above her aunt's in florida weren't exactly the quietest people. at least they didn't blast music all day long, that would've been intolerable. as it were, she only made it through this recent event by plugging in headphones and settling down with a good book to drown it all out and focus on something else. ]

A question, City. I was wondering... Not counting any of the aliens we have here, because the dimensional shift between worlds is sort of cheating and can make something that isn't reality become a reality... But, yeah, not counting any non-humans you may or may not have met here, do you... Do you believe in aliens?

[ just out of curiosity, of course. certainly, she doesn't want to see if she's not the only one with actual aliens back home. ]

Why wouldn't you count aliens who know humans who believe in him? Or her. Hypothetically.

I'm actually a hybrid of two different alien species. It's kind of a long story.

Wow, that's... Okay, this is going to sound kind of creepy, but I promise I'm not like, one of those crazy people. Just really big into science, so I find that just absolutely fascinating.

Oh. Well...I don't know much about the science of it, but my mother's people, the Skrulls, are shapeshifters. My father's people, the Kree, look pretty much human but are really strong. And the Skrull and Kree are or, I guess, were enemies and my mother met my father when he was being held captive and she helped break him out, so...complicated. But anyway, I can shapeshift and I'm pretty strong, too.

...that is so neat. Not the enemies thing, but possessing the unique qualities of both species.

Maybe I have, like, less of each, but I don't really know.

I'd suggest a genetic comparison, but there's not really a way to get DNA samples from member of either species, is there?

Uh, no. As far as I know there aren't any in the City.

That must be pretty lonely.

Not really. I lived on Earth since I was a baby so it's not like I'm used to knowing any others. I mean, besides my mom, but I didn't know until...and my friend Xavin, of course, but we're not super-close. I have people from home in the City, so I'm luckier than most.

Oh. Well, that's more than I've got here. You're really lucky to have friends here. Not that anyone being here is a good thing, but familiar faces are always... nice.
