♣ 008 || Action - Voice | Farewell to a Friend
[ Liam took his time fishing out his phone, dreading the conversation to come but knowing he had to make it. But, time held for no man and speak up, Liam did with a slight tremor coloring his voice despite how he attempted to iron it out. ] I'm afraid we've been inundated with feathers thanks to Raven's latest molting spree and the desert. If anyone would care to take them off our hands, it should make a very nice pillow at the least. I'm afraid there won't be any more forthcoming, however, but what we have, is yours.
[ He won't even charge for it. It's just... too many reminders of Gilbert. But it wasn't all sadness, he did have one question of wonder to note. ] Also, these creatures, this... half turtle, half duck; what is it and where did they come from? They're really quite friendly, aren't they? [ A regular boon to an aging soul.He should ask Break if they can adopt one. ]
((ooc: Liam is feeding the turtleducks day old bread out by one of the ponds in Xanadu. Feel free to stumble across him if you'd like a more personal conversation with Liam.))

[She's just going to sit down on the ground a good distance from the tiny ones' nest with her legs crossed. She's leaned forward, watching them intently with wide eyes and a semi smile.] Oh, I'm Jenny. Just Jenny. So many people here have more than one name, same as you, Liam Lunettes. I very much like your names. They both start with the same letter!
:: action
It's a pleasure to meet you, then, Miss. I'm afraid I'm in perfect agreement. The double L looks quite fine embroidered on a handkerchief or printed on a letter head.
[ it's the small things he finds pleasure in. ] Do you usually frequent the park? [ and the zoo ] The place is much bigger then one would imagine from the outside.
:: action
She does nod enthusiastically at Liam when asked about the zoo.] I mostly just visit where the animals are. They seem so lonely and dreary locked up in their cages. When I first arrived in the City I met a perfectly wonderful elephant that I frequently visit. I wanted to rescue and free him but it was decided by others that I shouldn't. I still consider it on some days though.

[ oh, the assumptions he is making! ]

Have you considered starting an animal shelter? Or helping out at the Welcoming center? Humans and animals alike need saving from time to time. [ just as Jenny had saved him from his melancholy just moments before. ]

[Of course she's digressed a bit and she realizes that. Her eyes turn bright again, that almost constant smile starting on her lips again.] Oh, a Welcome Center might be nice. I've yet to find my niche, you see. I've been trying a little bit of everything to see how I fit. I'm sure you already know where you fit. It seems that most people do.

[ wait ] ... You said, Time Lords?
[ cough ] Well, I've been doing the same work here as I did at home. It makes it easier, but you'll find something. [ most people usually do, eventually. ]
:: action
What did you do where you're from? In my home I was a soldier created for war. Do you think there's a war here that I've yet to find out about? Beneath the surface, as you say?
:: action
Whether you are or not, take the respite while you can. You should take the moment to live. [ Although, if she took "beneath the surface" literally, there may be some truth to that. He'll have to do his research into the place. ]
