[ Liam took his time fishing out his phone, dreading the conversation to come but knowing he had to make it. But, time held for no man and speak up, Liam did with a slight tremor coloring his voice despite how he attempted to iron it out. ] I'm afraid we've been inundated with feathers thanks to Raven's latest molting spree and the desert. If anyone would care to take them off our hands, it should make a very nice pillow at the least. I'm afraid there won't be any more forthcoming, however, but what we have, is yours.

[ He won't even charge for it. It's just... too many reminders of Gilbert. But it wasn't all sadness, he did have one question of wonder to note. ] Also, these creatures, this... half turtle, half duck; what is it and where did they come from? They're really quite friendly, aren't they? [ A regular boon to an aging soul. ~~He should ask Break if they can adopt one~~. ]

[ Liam tries to hide his laugh and fails ] No, I was actually considering taking one home with me. I have a friend who might find them a welcome distraction.

Oh, sure. I guess I don't really own them. They manage themselves as long as there's someone to steal breadcrumbs from.

[ he's thoughtful as he muses ] They do appear to be rather self sufficient. Who was the previous owner? I don't wish to keep something that should rightfully be his if he returns.

His name is Zuko, although he loves it when you call him Sparky. [ Yep, loves it. ] Don't worry. If he shows up again, I'll help you negotiate.

Sparky? [ what a strange name ] I'll keep that in mind should we happen to meet.

I must admit, you've been a great help since my arrival here. Is there nothing I can do to repay the favor? [ like give her a bag of feathers? ]

[ Oh, hey, a gift! No reason to turn that down. ] Well, I just do this kinda stuff from the goodness of my heart, [ aka when I'm bored ] but I wouldn't say no if you wanted to give me something.

[ he considers things for a long moment before responding. ] I do have those feathers still; they're yours for the taking, but if they're not to your taste, I'm sure I can find something better suited.

Perhaps a handkerchief?

[ he's hopeful, but no one seems to like his brand of handkerchiefs. ]

[ Toph doesn't want your hankies either, sry2say. ]

Feathers will work. I'm sure I can find something to do with them.

[ he's relieved ] Wonderful. How should I have them delivered? [ he's used to messenger service. He can only hope the City has something just as efficient! ]

Well, it's more like I'm keeping it for a friend. But yeah. Come by, have some tea. There don't seem to be any terrible curses going on today, so this is the day to try it.

[ ah, another companion lost then, was it? Toph was a good kid. ] I think I may then. Thank-you. [ he says it with a smile on his lips. With so many others soldiering on and keeping their wits and spirits about them, how could he do less? It was something to ponder on, at least. ]
