017 [Video | Action]

[There is a blonde, little girl laying on her stomach on the floor. There are papers and crayons scattered all around her. The tip of her tongue is caught between her teeth as she works on a drawing. After a moment she looks up at the device and waves.]

Hullo. [She holds up her drawing. It's a very six year old drawing. There's something that appears to be a blue police box and two stick figures. One of them has hair that sticks straight up from his head. The other has no hair.] These are my Doctors and this is the TARDIS.

This Doctor [She points to the stick figure with the hair.] made me pancakes this mornin'. He flips 'em in the air and everythin'. I wanted 'em shaped like things so he made 'em shaped like the Medusa Cascade. The Medusa Cascade is shaped like this. [She puts her paper down, draws on it and holds it back up. It's a blob shape.] The Doctor says m'gonna go there when I'm bigger and grown up.

This Doctor [She points to the one without any hair] has never finger painted before so we're gonna fingerpaint today.

[ooc; Rose is cursed to be tiny today. Replies will come from [personal profile] badpup]

[As far as he's concerned, he is an acceptable reason for her to quit pouting.]

Brilliant! I love blue paint! Where am I with all the paints? You did tell me to get them, right?
badpup: (You're crazy pants)

[personal profile] badpup 2012-01-26 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[Okay, well. Yes. Except when he's the one that caused the pouting in the first place.]

Uh huh. You're on your way. Be patient.

[ooc: I'll have to link Dove to this and see if she wants to play with them all finger painting.]
am_i_being_rude: (idiots: looking at video recorder)

[personal profile] am_i_being_rude 2012-01-26 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pfft.] When have you ever known me to be patient? C'mon. What else did you draw earlier?

[ooc: yeah, I've been wondering if threads were going to merge or if we were all doing different things.]
badpup: (Listening)

[personal profile] badpup 2012-01-26 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Never ever. I drew me and Donna and s'plodin' Daleks and you and Jenny and the TARDIS as a girl 'steada box and Bad Wolf and Oncoming Storm in the TARDIS when she's a box and not a girl 'cause that'd be weird. And I drew Cinna in the TARDIS and Mum and the planet with giant roses or what I think the planet with giant roses would look like.

[Deep breath]

And the Medusa Cascade. And that's all.
am_i_being_rude: (what: oh yeah?)

[personal profile] am_i_being_rude 2012-01-27 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Raised eyebrows.] 'That's all'? That's quite a lot. We might have to take mine down to make room for them all on the fridge.
badpup: (You're crazy pants)

[personal profile] badpup 2012-01-27 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
No! They can just go on the walls in the kitchen or we'll get a sticky board to put 'em on. Or we can just keep the ones you like the most.

I met a boy named Percy. he was nice to me and asked me to tell him 'bout my drawin's.
am_i_being_rude: (grin: smaller grin)

[personal profile] am_i_being_rude 2012-01-27 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, he didn't really think that would work.]

I'm sure we've got more wall space for them somewhere. We apparently don't get rid of waxen masterpieces in this flat-hold.

Yeah? Percy sounds like he knows what's good for him. Or he's got younger siblings. Or both! They're not really mutually exclusive.
badpup: (Thoughtful)

[personal profile] badpup 2012-01-27 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Like any version of her would let him get away with that.]

Nope. We like everything everybody colours.

He's ginger and he's never traveled in space or time.
am_i_being_rude: (grin: downlooking sidesmikr)

[personal profile] am_i_being_rude 2012-01-27 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
You'd be surprised what a large percentage of the population that description probably covers. But ginger! Points for being ginger.

[personal profile] leathered 2012-01-27 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
[ The Doctor comes in on the tail end of that statement with all of the paints. Much easier to juggle when he doesn't have to worry about a small girl. ]

We're having no luck with the ginger, seems like. Looking younger every time, though. [ A grin. ] Brought the paints.
badpup: (Pout and sulk)

[personal profile] badpup 2012-01-27 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh he gets a big toothy grin at his arrival.]

I think the new one looks twelve. Maybe fifteen. [Said by someone who looks six right now.] Aaaaaaand I think it's sad that he hasn't traveled in time so...[The next comes out in a rush of words] Isortainvitedhimtogowithuswhenweleavehere [And she's just going to follow it up with an automatic pout, anticipating the grief she'll get over that.]
am_i_being_rude: (what: back squared glasses)

[personal profile] am_i_being_rude 2012-01-27 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Well finally.]

Here's hoping he gets a chance to age a bit before regenerating. It's hard to be intimidating as a six year old.

[That gets his attention. The pre-emptive pout was probably a decent plan, although he's more surprised than anything. After the last few times they'd had other people with them, he'd rather come to the conclusion that both he and she preferred not having company.] Oh really? In my- [...] our, TARDIS?

[personal profile] leathered 2012-01-27 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ They are so mean to themselves. ] That'd help, yeah.

[ The Doctor points at little Rose, fake scolding in his tone. ] This one's not going to get a hole put in his head, I hope. Impulse invitations don't always work out very well.

badpup: (Sunshine on a rainy day)

[personal profile] badpup 2012-01-27 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[She would rather it just be the two of them. Most of the time anyway. Mostly she likes Percy and she feels sorry for him because he's never traveled in time or space.

Also, it's possible that a little part of her thinks of the TARDIS as hers too, whether she's right or wrong and inviting people you like into your home is something you do, right? The reminder of Adam and the hole in his head makes her giggle. Or rather the snapping does and she tries to snap and then is thoroughly frustrated when her six year old fingers don't want to properly snap. She gives up after a second with a dramatic sigh.]

He's smarter than that. I think. Anyhow, I'll make him stay with us. It'll be a rule. [because that works so hard for the Doctor.]
am_i_being_rude: (grin: downlook grinny grin)

[personal profile] am_i_being_rude 2012-01-28 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, he's just sort of going to badly stifle a laugh at making it a 'rule'. He's said 'Don't wander off' to her several times and it's basically the first thing she ever seems to do.]

Good idea. Why didn't I ever think of that?

[personal profile] leathered 2012-01-28 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
[ Nine grins. ] We say it and it never works, that's why. Can't imagine whose fault that is.

[ The Doctor takes off his jacket and puts it carefully across the room, far away from the paint. He comes back and starts opening the little paint jars. ]
badpup: (Pout and sulk)

[personal profile] badpup 2012-01-28 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Excellent choice of actions there, Doctor. She sticks her tongue out at them.] But I don't go get holes in my head. [No, she gets kidnapped by fleets of daleks, aliens in the telly and things like that.]

Hold on!

[She runs into the other room and comes back with a long paint tray so he can pour little puddles of paint it in and they can really get their hands in it.]
am_i_being_rude: (idiots: and are you quite sure about tha)

[personal profile] am_i_being_rude 2012-01-28 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
No, you don't. [You go losing your face and being transmatted and possessed by butts and yes, what you said.]

[He's rolling his sleeves up in what he's fairly certain is going to be relatively futile anyway, but leaving them unrolled will just mean his cuffs get all smeary and mess up the painting.]

You really did plan all of this out quite well. Been wanting to fingerpaint with us for a while?

[personal profile] leathered 2012-01-28 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
And here I thought this was going to be random curse weekend. You know something you aren't telling?

[ He pours the paint as directed, like a good Doctor. ]
badpup: (Listening)

[personal profile] badpup 2012-01-28 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
You've been little loads of times here. Figgered I would be again sometime.

[She's so proud of him. She looks over to the other him and nods.]

Thought it'd be more fun when I was little.
am_i_being_rude: (well: headscratch)

[personal profile] am_i_being_rude 2012-01-29 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[He scrunches his face up a little.] It's happened rather a lot, hasn't it? Proportionally speaking. I wonder why.

[ooc: ah, sorry, I lost this notif somewhere.]

♥!

[personal profile] leathered 2012-01-30 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Glad it's just Rose today. I'm not sure I'm cut out for babysitting.

[ He remembers being a bitty Time Lord. Always into something. ]
badpup: (Everything is funny)

[personal profile] badpup 2012-01-30 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Rose dips her hand in paint and steps up to the canvas, making the first swipe of blue across it.]

Donna did last time. She had a talking Llama and she let us ride on it then we escaped and shot people with water guns filled with blue kool aid.

[No one is cut out for baby sitting the two of them tiny together.]
am_i_being_rude: (well: thinking aloud)

[personal profile] am_i_being_rude 2012-01-30 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
['Shot people' is almost being kind. He mostly shot himself in the face trying to drink his ammunition. He is, cleverly, not going to mention this to himself though, and instead gets some paint on his fingers and starts painting above her swiping.]

She actually did a decent job, though I think starting with breakfast gave her an edge. [He glances at Nine.] I'm not sure either of us babysitting the other is ever a good idea.

[personal profile] leathered 2012-01-30 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
[ Nine shakes his head in agreement. Definitely a terrible idea. Also, it feels really weird. ]

[ Well, might as well join in. He sticks his fingers in the paint and finds a good spot. It is kind of fun, really. ]

She'd be the one I'd pick to keep children in line. Bit of a motherly type.
