[ There's a bit of a glitchy video feed showing Eames' mug in the cramped room provided by the safe zone housing. ]

I'm not sure whether or not someone has already offered a solution to our little slimy problem- [ there's jostling movement as Eames flicks a slug off of his shoulder before he turns the camera toward the ground where he has a shallow pan set up. There's amber fluid in the pan with a rather large congregation of slugs floating inside it, a neat stack of a rather ratty looking six-pack of emptied beer cans nearby. ]

You can use beer to create traps for the slugs. It doesn't particularly matter what brand as slugs aren't the pickiest of the bunch - they'll try to get to the source and promptly drown themselves.

[ He pokes at the pan with the tip of his shoe - the slugs roll around with the momentum, dead. Eames makes a bit of a disgruntled sound. ] Yeast makes the compound a bit more appetizing for the bastards, but I hardly expect anyone to have packets of the stuff around on this side.

[ Blip! Off goes the feed. ]

[ Eames picks a dead slug up out of the pan and wiggles it at her. ]

As far as I'm concerned, PBR is already made of slugs.

[ Slowly approaches closer. ]

What if it comes back to life?

Touch it. I dare you. It's absolutely dead.

[boutant]

[ Pause. ]

Did you really just dare me?

There's an episode of Futurama like that.

The only way to get over your irrational fears is to confront them.

Or touch them.

[ Wiggle. ]

[signatures]

Is there? I never got into the cartoon, personally.

[boutant]

I don't see how not liking slugs that crawl into peoples heads and mind control them is irrational.

[ god Eames didn't you ever read Animorphs ]

Well, at least you know what it is.

[signatures]

You can fear a living slug that crawls into your head and mind controls you.

But a dead slug?

[ no but he did see the puppet master ]

[signatures]

Certain forms of common media are rather impossible to avoid. Or, at least, rather willingly difficult.

[boutant]

A dead slug in a city where dead people walk around all the time.

[ EYEING THAT SLUG STILL ]

No, I mean, some people are like,

No way what are you talking about I'm from 1453.

[ He could tease her. He could very much pretend as though the slug has become alive and is fighting to get into his ears or eyes or mouth and that she is the only one who could save him.

But that takes too much effort and he's feeling lazy so he only shrugs and places the slug on the nightstand, going to fish out the other dead ones from the pan. ]

Ah, right.

There is that. It's 2010, where I am.

[boutant]

[ There's no real amount of relief, because now the slug is just sitting there and Eames is occupied with the other slugs. She glances between the two -- dead slug and Eames with other dead slugs -- before sighing. ]

What are you planning on doing with them?

[signatures]

Flush them down the toilet.

[ He looks over at her curiously. ]

Do you have a better idea?

[boutant]

[ There's a pause. ]

Burn them. You'll use less water.
