[You know what you need, City? You need a break. You need a cat video. So have this adorable video of Mao sitting on Yin's piano, dozing just a little. He certainly doesn't notice Yin's other cat approaching until it's too late.]

[Yin reaches out to grab the other cat, cuddling it close to herself to prevent anymore damage.]

Mao, are you all right?

[Mao glowers at the other cat indignantly, repressing an urge to hiss. When the urge becomes too overwhelming, he licks himself to calm down.]

I'm fine.

[Yin pets the non-Contractor cat until it seems calmer and purrs. After all, of the two, it is the least capable of understanding the situation.]

[Once calmer, Yin moves him to another room and returns to Mao, just her. Then she begins to pet him.]

[Mao will never admit that he's jealous of the attention the other cat is getting. When Yin comes back, she'll find him looking completely nonchalant, like he couldn't care less. (There's a slight purr when she pets him, though.)]

You heard the announcement, didn't you?

[Yin nods her head, then focuses her pets down Mao's spine.]

[She shakes her head and tries to pull Mao to her lap.]

[He doesn't resist; he likes Yin's lap.]

Why not?

[Things have been strange between the faux-Contractor and his Doll for the past few weeks. Mao hasn't particularly cared to delve into the why, since it didn't affect his life any, but now? Now it's important to understand where everybody stands.]

[Yin had believed things fixed between them, more or less, not giving any of the earlier complications another thought. Nor had she considered to contacting Hei, believing he would be in contact with her, as usual.]

Don't you want to know where he'll be going?

[Mao can't imagine Hei would return to their world. What reason would he have?]

Yes. Because I will follow.

[Maybe she should do contact him. She thought Hei would tell her when he was ready, but just in case.... She pulls Mao just a little closer, petting gently.]

Of course. [Like Yin would do anything else.] You should make contact with him.

[She nods and plans to, later. For now, though, she's petting Mao.]

Where will you go?

[Mao yawns carelessly.]

Wherever you go, I suppose. I don't see any reason to separate.

[Her lips twitch, but this time aren't able to smile without help from her fingers, which are too busy petting behind Mao's ears. Yes, they should stay together. All of them.]

[Even if she smiled, he's not looking up to see. But he doesn't have to see to know that she's pleased.]

[The ear petting should be telling enough. After all, why would a Contractor think a Doll might be pleased.]

[Mao has long ago accepted that Yin is different from other Dolls. She has feelings. What that means, why it happened, what it will lead to -- he has no idea.

But it should be interesting.]

[If Hei has his way, though, Mao might not ever have to witness that, with Yin on the cusp of barely realizing what lays beneath her, somewhere between almost feeling again and Doll-like.]
