Well Ikki's got the king title already, might as well take the overlord title while it's still available!

And yeah, why not? From what I've seen it always bounces back eventually.

And—I dunno, those were just curses, right? This time the whole dimension's falling apart—tch, even the deities're moving to get us out.

Aah that's true isn't it? But in that case all we have to do is get into the other city and things'll be as good as normal.

Like I said, it'll be normal eventually!

Well, yeah—we'd be getting everything back. And it'd be normal again—without us even having to fight anything except the monsters.

Well if you want you could think of your whole adventure in this city as a dream. It's strange enough to be one.

Pain doesn't wake you up though, apparently.

Not that kind of real—! I dunno, it doesn't sound like something that could actually happen. When you lose something, you lose it. That's just how things work.

[undespairing]

That's true. Like how lost teeth never grow back! Or how scars never go back to being perfectly unblemished skin. I think I'll still hold out hope for getting things back though, just in case.

[ laughs a little after a moment, a low and startled sound. ]

Scared?...Even if I was, there's not much point in dwelling on it. [he chuckles a little.]
