[Jinora knows this place.
The eleven year-old stands in the snow near a familiar fountain, gathering scattered memories of the City and reconciling them with the last six months spent at home. A lot has happened at home, but how much has happened here? She simultaneously feels that she’s been here very recently and a long time ago. But no, time must have passed here. It was spring or summer when she was here last, and now it’s snowing.
Jinora’s grateful for the warm clothes that she’s wearing. If she had been taken from the temperate Air Temple Island instead of the chilly South Pole, finding herself in a cold, half-remembered world would be far more unpleasant. She’s also grateful for the boxy device that she finds in the folds of her heavy robes. It’s still way more sophisticated than the radios at home, but her fingers remember which buttons to touch to send out an audio message.]
This is Jinora. I don’t know if anyone remembers me, but if you know anyone from Republic City or Air Temple Island or if Korra’s still here, could you tell them I’m here, please? I don’t know how good they are at working these things.
Thank you.
[She returns the device to her robe and waits patiently and calmly for any kind of response. Jinora isn’t afraid of being away from home this time. After getting lost in the spirit world and almost seeing the world end, this is easy.]
[ooc: Jinora will remember her previous time in the City, but it will be a bit foggy. She's six months older and a bit more mature; her app has details for crazy people who are curious!]

video;
[ (Maybe Amber would've been more open-minded about this abstractia. The intangible was her forte.) ]
But then how did you get trapped in here? Were you kidnapped?
video;
video;
[ Give him a moment, Jinora. This is a lot to take in. Like. Seriously a lot. ]
[ Finally: ]
Is it me, or does Korra know a lot of evil people?
video;
video;
[ He'd feel less like a fucking Pollyanna if he knew it was Nickelodeon. ]
It. Um. Did turn out all right? [ ... ] Right? No casualties or pyrrhic victories.
video;
It was fine, except Korra and Mako broke up. [SIGH] Don't tell her that, though.
video;
[ He makes a face -- feigned sympathy? or a reflexive moue of awkward? -- and clears his throat. ]
Well. Teenage romances. They never last long.
[ Minimize. Rationalize. Move on. ]
video;
[And, out of nowhere--]
Do you have a girlfriend, Li?
video;
Um. Well. That's -- [ He starts, stops, then starts again. ] You know. I-I think I smell the cake burning.
video;
[A beatific smile.]
video;
[ If there's anything Hei has learned over the years -- and he has learned a number of things, having to blend in, lie, manipulate, prevaricate, and perform with regards to his profession -- it's how to answer without quite answering. ]
Let's just say some people [ meaning himself ] prefer to avoid labels.
[ It's not a yes, and it's not a no. ]
video;
[She's being exceptionally eleven right now. Shut up, she just almost died.]
video;
No boyfriends. I can promise that much.
video;
[She has no idea just how eventually how that will be.]
video;
Well.
I encourage you to keep an open mind, if and when you do.
[ And try not to give Korra the judgey-face. Too often, anyway. ]
video;
[She can make no promises on the judgey-face front.]
video;
[ He will make you eat your words if you infect the Beach House with your judginess, missy. I mean, between Pai's malaise and his own grumpiness it'll get to be a pretty toxic environment, otherwise. ]
video;
You should save your cake [that totally isn't burning because it's not real]. Bye, Li.
video;
Oh. Right. Cake. [ It's real enough. It's just not. Y'know. Burning. ] Bye, Jinora. It's good to have you back.

Shit was Jinora just talking to --]
Was that H-- Li?
[action]
Yep. What kind of tea is that?
[action]
What were you two talking about?
[action]
The spirit world, mostly. I asked him if he has a girlfriend or a boyfriend and he didn't give me a good answer.
[action]
Yeeeeeeeeeah....about that...... I ... kinda forgot to mention this earlier when we were talking about the pets, but there have been some, ah, new additions to the Beach House. [Deep breath no this isn't awkward at all nope.] Li and his little sister Xing have moved in. They're going to be living with us.
[action]
Li has a sister? And he's living with you? [Oh. OH.] He's living with you? You're his girlfriend! How are you his girlfriend?
