[Jinora knows this place.
The eleven year-old stands in the snow near a familiar fountain, gathering scattered memories of the City and reconciling them with the last six months spent at home. A lot has happened at home, but how much has happened here? She simultaneously feels that she’s been here very recently and a long time ago. But no, time must have passed here. It was spring or summer when she was here last, and now it’s snowing.
Jinora’s grateful for the warm clothes that she’s wearing. If she had been taken from the temperate Air Temple Island instead of the chilly South Pole, finding herself in a cold, half-remembered world would be far more unpleasant. She’s also grateful for the boxy device that she finds in the folds of her heavy robes. It’s still way more sophisticated than the radios at home, but her fingers remember which buttons to touch to send out an audio message.]
This is Jinora. I don’t know if anyone remembers me, but if you know anyone from Republic City or Air Temple Island or if Korra’s still here, could you tell them I’m here, please? I don’t know how good they are at working these things.
Thank you.
[She returns the device to her robe and waits patiently and calmly for any kind of response. Jinora isn’t afraid of being away from home this time. After getting lost in the spirit world and almost seeing the world end, this is easy.]
[ooc: Jinora will remember her previous time in the City, but it will be a bit foggy. She's six months older and a bit more mature; her app has details for crazy people who are curious!]

You're back! I can't believe it!

And I can't believe you're still here! So much happened, I can't wait until you get to see it yourself!

[Well, okay, fine. Jinora smooths her robes down fussily in an eerie imitation of her father.]
How long was I gone? There wasn't snow before.

[But, more importantly]
Is everyone else gone?

[She tries to parse this down to the briefest summary possible.]
Soooo you have an evil uncle, Unalaq, only no one knew he was evil because he was really good at purifying spirits and there were a lot of angry spirits around. You learned that Harmonic Convergence--that's when Raava the light spirit and Vaatu the dark spirit fight to see which one will dominate the next ten thousand years--is about to happen and you had to find Dad so he could guide you in the spirit world.
Dad was upset because he couldn't get to the spirit world, but then Aunt Kya made me tell him that maybe I could, so we went to the spirit world together. We got separated and I found Wan Shi Tong's library, which is the most amazing place ever, and learned that Vaatu could be released--did I mention he was imprisoned in a tree by the first Avatar?--if the Northern and Southern spirit portals were both open when Harmonic Convergence happened. But then Wan Shi Tong was working with your evil uncle who stole me and threatened to take my soul if you didn't open the Northern spirit portal. You opened the portal--which was kind of dumb--and I got stuck in the spirit world until Dad and Aunt Kya and Uncle Bumi rescued me.
[She isn't going to pause to dwell on the Fog of Lost Souls or how close she came to dying, thanks.]
By then, Harmonic Convergence had happened and Vaatu was free and Unalaq combined with Vaatu. That made him the opposite of the Avatar, who's bound to Raava. You two fought in the spirit world and your evil uncle destroyed Raava and broke the Avatar cycle. When Dad found me, I knew that you needed help so my spirit went to Republic City where all of your spiritual energy was fighting Unalaq and Vaatu, and I showed you that Vaatu can't exist without Raava and you pulled Raava out of Vaatu and Unalaq died. You and Raava got to bond again, so you're still the Avatar, but you lost your connection to all of the other Avatars. After that, you decided to leave the spirit portals open because you thought that spirits and people should live together without the Avatar bridging the worlds.
[She stops. Did she cover everything? No, not really, but that was most of it.]
Oh! And the projection of your spiritual energy looks like a giant blue you with glowing eyes, if you wanted to know.

My uncle is evil? I always thought he was just kinda dour....
no subject
No, he's evil. Only an evil person would threaten to destroy a little girl's soul.
[She sounds like she's talking about a little girl who isn't her. So adult. Wow.]

He captured me and told you that he'd destroy my soul if you didn't open the Northern spirit portal.

Jinora... I am so sorry. [She doesn't understand it. Can't really wrap her mind around it. But her uncle is her family, and she feels responsible.]

It's okay. I'm fine, and I wasn't scared. [Okay, she was a little scared, but she was willing to die to keep the spirit portal closed. Acceptance is a little like not being afraid!]

[She shakes her head. It's too much to take in right now.] We should go home. The animals have missed you.

They're all still here? Even all the cats and sheep?
