Ten Things I Worry About:

1. War. Specifically nuclear war, but war in general qualifies, I guess.
2. Hurting someone.
3. My thoughts.
4. What if everything we experience is actually just in our heads and in reality nothing is real.
5. Reality and what defines it. Is it different for different people?
6. What happens after we die.
7. Dying a virgin.
8. Is it really important to wear matching socks? Who decided that? Is that completely arbitrary? Who decides what "matches" anyway?
9. Being stuck in the City forever.
10. Making lists because what if they're not actually the top ten things I worry about and there's something else I want to put on it but the list is already made?

Generally I find that people want to get to know each other before they make an offer like that. And usually, once they start to get to know me, any possibility of that kind of offer being made goes out the window.

Well, it's good to know what you want. I admire that. Most people have no idea what they want.

It's just that even if people don't want a relationship, they usually, you know, want to talk first.

Whatever people talk about. You know, they ask each other questions about personal stuff. I think.

Life is life. It doesn't care about complications. It'll happen no matter what.

Sure, it'll happen, but that doesn't mean we just stop thinking about the complications or the worries. I mean, we can't just stop thinking.

It's not that I don't appreciate the offer -- believe me, I do -- it's just that it doesn't feel... right.

Maybe I should introduce you to my brother. He's a nitpicker... I think that's what he calls it... too.

Maybe you should. Although I kind of doubt your brother's here. Most people don't get that lucky.

No, he's not here currently, but he tends to show up whenever he can. Like when there's those weekends with a huge influx of people. Or other curses that let you see people that aren't here.

Those curses are weird. Kinda cool, but weird. I had someone show up one time. I never expected that to happen, but it was good. And weird.

It was strange the first time it happened, but then it got annoying since I knew he'd show up whenever he could. Especially when Alec started badgering the people I've been seeing.

[Aggravated noise of aggravation.]

He's cheating.

Well, he's your brother. My understanding is that he's kinda supposed to badger people on your behalf. Or to irritate you. And he's probably supposed to badger you, too. That's what I've been led to believe about siblings.

Yes, I know. But he doesn't have to show up at every available opportunity.

It probably doesn't help that the City seems to like to piss us off with that kind of stuff, too. I mean, if they can make a curse unfortunate, they will.
