Desert City
[Video / Desert City Action ]
[It had taken a little while to find enough solid scrap metal to cobble together, even longer since a few of the pieces he had been intending to use transformed into sand before the work could be completed, but now he had a reasonable facsimile of a transportation device. It would not be very comfortable inside and it would need to rely on the thrusters of the FTO to break through to the glass city but it might be able to provide a chance to a few of the people still trapped here.
Eagle smiled and made certain to thank the people who had helped him put all of this together. So much work in such a short time, it had to have been a group effort.]
It looks like we were able to complete our project after all. I can’t take very many, maybe a dozen or so, but if the FTO holds onto this little construct of ours I should be able to ensure that at least some of you can make it to the Glass City.
Lantis, did you manage to make it to the Desert City? If you did I will hold off leaving until you can get here. The building I had the FTO stored in has already turned to sand and collapsed but, I think you can still find where it used to b--…
AAAaaaaaeehhh!!
[That message to Lantis would have been made private but the privacy filters were just not holding up for some reason, however if it had been the rest of the network would have missed hearing the sudden ear piercing scream of one of the lady welders and the roar of the approaching monster. The rest occurred in a blur of color and motion as a sudden frantic defense was mounted.]
Shrooook!
Get back! Stay away from the claws!
[Placing himself between and monster and the civilians was the only way to prevent any of them from falling prey to the snarling scorpion-like creature. From the crate on which the network device sat abandoned only snatches of the ensuing battle could be seen. A flash of a laser weapon, a claw flying free of its former host, the sounds of the battle, and a splash of blood as it hit the sand. Then everything went silent.]
[OCC: Eagle was mortality wounded in this battle but he is stubborn enough to linger for a few parting words. ]

[ AP ^w^ <33]
Yeah, I did... However... I'm sorry, Eagle... I'm sorry...
[Sorry that he hadn't been watching his back more. Sorry that he didn't make it there in time. Sorry that he couldn't do more...]
[ooc; No need tooo~ it's perfect~ gaaaah~ Eaaagle~ =TTATT= / ]
[ AP It looks like a pumpkin face! <33]
You don't have to... It is ok this way...
[An apology wasn't necessary, an outcome like this had been something Eagle had been striving for. Granted his feelings about dying had changed a great deal since arriving in the City but in the end this was still an honorable death, something he could be proud of and accept without complaint. ]
Thank you for coming...
[It was cold and even the warmth from Klarth's hand holding his was beginning to feel faint like it was very far away instead of being as near as it was. It was a terrible position to place a friend in, to watch some one die, but hopefully it wouldn't be too hard on Klarth. ]
You are a ... great friend...
[That was it. The last thing Eagle had a chance to say before it became too difficult to gasp for the next breath of air. His eyes simply slid shut and his battered body went limp. ]
[OOC: Aww, a maybe blush! ^^ ]
[ AP XDDDD now that you mention it~ yeah~! <33]
It's the least I could do.
[His hand was growing cold... the summoner could tell he didn't have much time left. He kept telling himself, he'd return. He'd return. But somehow, logic just did not register in situations as this. He gave his hand a small squeeze. To those last words, he widened his eyes a bit before fully closing them as he felt him go limp.]
Rest well... my friend.
[ooc; =>//w//<= <3 Eagle is influential like that =>//>=;]
[ AP ]
Soon there was nothing left and any sign that there had been a battle here was covered in the fine grained sand. Even the giant mecha that Eagle had been thinking of using as a means of escape had dissolved into dust while Eagle's final moments had played out.
He would return eventually, but he would have to find a different way to the glass city. And maybe even... apologize to Klarth for causing him so much trouble.]
[OOC: ^,^ Thoughts like that lead to strange plots. ]
[ AP ]
As the last bit of grain left his hand, Klarth slowly stood and gave a small sigh as he fixed the hat on his head. A glance to the ground where he was and then up at the sky where the beating sun shined from above, he gave a determined look and a small promise to do his best to get as many to safety before turning to leave.]
[ooc; oh? Do tell do tell~<3 =owo=]
