[ Raven... really has no idea what this thing is. at first she thought it was a television with a live feed, but the longer she just stares at the thing, the more clear it becomes that it's- It must have been a walky-talky of some kind! Only with a video feed, somehow, despite that being kind of unheard of, where she's from. She's sure Charles is finding it all very groovy, if he's here. Which of course he is, they couldn't have been separated. Not now.

But it didn't matter how weird this all was, not if this thing was the only way of getting in touch with anyone she knew. She turns it on, quite sure it's just an audio but well, it's video.

which means, for the record, everyone is seeing this blue face on the screen. yup. ]

Hello? [ she's looking at the comm like it's immediately going to talk back, but. right. it wasn't a telephone. or maybe the message took time to send. whatever. ]

Hi, um. Well. I'm not sure how to directly call the people that this message is intended for yet, so. I'm sorry for clogging up the airwaves, or. Whatever. [ her nose scrunches because okay, wow, technology certainly isn't her expertise, and she had no idea how to talk about it. ] But I really need to get in touch with a few people, see if they're here. Which I'm sure all of you have been trying to do, but it's really important because we were sort of in the middle of trying to prevent a --big thing, and being here could kind of completely ruin any chances of us being successful. And they're... my family so I can't just leave without at least leaving them a note. [ wow, sound more like a child, Raven. really. try. ]

Anyway, I'll try and make this quick.

If any of you guys can hear me, this is Raven. [ there's a tiny, tiny laugh. ] Mystique. [ grin! so proud of herself. ] Yes, I'm calling myself that over the radio because our code names are way far out, no matter what you guys say. I hope if you're here, you're all safe. Actually I just... kinda hope you're here. I'm not ready to be on my own again, if it's all the same to you guys.

[ ... wow, so. that was sharey. she's just going to clear her throat now. ]

[ His first instinct is relief, pure and simple. It floods his system and fills up the empty parts of him he wasn't sure he'd feel again without her. It's only been a few days but the worry and the upset had been enough. They'd argued and he'd been unkind, flustered by her new ( though only to him ) concerns and with his mind solely on the war approaching them. In the dark hours of the night he'd realised just how little they'd talked since finding Moira and maybe, maybe, how he'd let her down as a brother.

His next is panic. ] Raven, what are you -- ? [ He physically bites down on his tongue. She's blue. She's very blue. And yet she is here and that is the best thing in the entire world and he is wasting precious time in what he's about to say to her so he merely chooses to not. Already he's rifling through the minds of the people around him, and then further out. Mental GPS. ] Stay right where you are. [ She can just about see the blur of a background as he stands and shoves a jacket over himself - sans yellow and blue leather now. He's had time to go to a thrift store and rent a little room while he thinks about what to do. ]

[ p h e w. yeah, she's actually very relieved too. it makes perfect sense that he's here, why wouldn't he be? if she is, they all must be, right? and it's a little bit awkward, she might have just gotten done --getting mad at him at the kitchen table, but being kidnapped to a city she doesn't recognize kind of trumps sibling arguments. for now, at least. but it's still nice to actually see him, a visual confirmation of-

Charles knows what she looks like. and 2) little too late for that anyway, right? it makes her heart hammer in her chest thinking that everyone could see her, but. that's a different story. ]

[ He'd met fascinating people and yet he's not entirely sure how they'd take to a girl like Raven. It's every fear he's ever had rolled into one tight ball of anxiety that sits at the bottom of his stomach. [Not only has Penny been in the City long enough to be unsurprised by blue people, but she's... uniquely open-minded? Pathologically accepting? Slightly crazy? Whatever. When an actual horse is the baddest bad guy in town, "Dr. Horrible" is an acceptable supervillain alias, and death-by-death-ray is a serious thing instead of hideous irony, blue people aren't that weird.

Blue people who turn into not-blue people are slightly more novel. She returns the wave anyway.]

From the look of it you're from a very different world than what I'm used to but, given the situation, I think we might be able to help each other. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ciaphas Cain.

Despite having seen her transformation Cain keeps an utterly nuetral expression. Considering Mystique's transformation he determines his his earlier statements put her on guard. Hoping to ease the tension Cain tilts his cap back to a more casual angle and smiles warmly.]

To be honest, I have no idea what's waiting in the town. So far all I know is that, apparently, I can't leave here. However I got here, I've only been here for a day or so. That being said I'm sure I know no more than you do about the town but, with the places I've been before, I know better than to delve into the unkown alone. I figured that, at the very least, we might be able to find someplace with food. Considering I've been sitting in the carousel since I got here, [he laughs to himself] I could do with a bite to eat [Maybe some Tanna too] and I'd wager that you could as well.

I wouldn't dream of leaving my family without a word, but I promise you won't be worrying them too much. I'm not sure if it's a comfort or not, knowing that time's on hold back home, but... That's what it is. You're alright.

Charles Xavier, my brother. And he did get in touch with me, pretty quickly, actually. There are a few others I would love to see, but the fact that he's here is- good. It's making it a lot easier to not get too overwhelmed, at least.

You think so? [ 'cool' has a different meaning, when she's from. more like... how you act, play it cool. but she can guess it's a compliment, just by how she said it. so, that's nice. ah. she's probably smiling too much at such an easy compliment, but ah well. ]
