P.) — fighting in the streets, corpses with familiar faces, a raised wand and yelled incantations and blood — Ginny is standing outside the hospital, exchanging photographs with Dr Wilson, handing him a cup of coffee and a soft smile— suddenly it's a dark room, an interrogation and

— she's on a broom, she collides in midair with Thor and they dissolve into an argument about whose fault it was — she's launching herself over the shop counter to hug a young Remus Lupin; and it flips to a young boy in the same joke shop with his father (Jimmy) as she makes him fly — the mountaintop now, stumbling out of a dreamscape with Chekov supporting her — Angela watching her unwrap a gorgeous blue dress — whiskey in glasses, then Bucky's running after her as she runs and climbs into the fountain, drunk and he's yelling,

Weasley! Get back here, you crazy dame!

— she's pale, coughing, collapsing in the lobby of her apartment building, she's playing chess with Mae Crawford in her hospital bed; suddenly it's Mae and Clary and Ginny at a bar, clinking brightly coloured drinks — words overlap the image of Ginny in a wheelchair on the rooftop of the hospital, tossing paper airplanes into the wind with Dr McCoy:

A paper airplane. I love it. Thank you.
Turn around, then. I'll put it on you.
How's it look?
Like it belongs to you, princess.

— fireworks! Leaping from rooftops, blending into the relative tranquility of Jim and Bones' apartment, Ginny and the captain tracing sparklers through the air huddled on a sofa; then Ginny's going at a punching bag steadied by Clint and an Australian accent filters through, the image of a darkened doorway and two figures with an undercurrent of broken sobbing...

You're all right. I've got you.

— Ginny and Sulu have climbed the rocks at the beach, a party and ocean below, her arm around his waist and they're laughing and he dives into the water first and she follows; a Christmas gift of blooming winter jasmine; a shot of two people walking closely from behind at night, flaming red hair and a tall young man with dark hair and a Japanese restaurant in the distance — then text:

hermione's gone home. again. i don't care if it's selfish, you'd best not be next.

QUIDDITCH MATCH! Gryffindor versus Slytherin, familiar faces of the City mingled with Ginny's home world, a castle, roaring crowds — a crowded, cosy dinner at Ginny's apartment with Molly Weasley churning out food with a sweep of her wand, everyone Ginny holds near and dear packed in with full plates then — Chakotay at the beach, she's bursting in on the scene on her broomstick and they both jump with surprise as it fades to — Ginny's birthday party, she's swing dancing with Bucky, then there's snow covering every surface —

the back room of the joke shop, potion brewing in a cauldron and Ginny and Spock having tea:

and the whole thing begins to wrap up with the holidays, a quick flash through of cursed mistletoe and a festival bright with lights; it comes to a lingering image of the beach, bare feet dug into sand and Ginny speaking with someone:

[Grumbling. She thought it was going to be a nice, calm Tuesday. And then she falls silent and the video takes over, a babble of voices of people past and present as well as herself. It's a good thing this isn't video because she's bright red by the end and maybe she's teary-eyed, for just an instant, and she starts to laugh but it's an odd one.]

I don't— [Bloody hell.] Merlin's beard, I don't even know if I should be upset or... And you saw this? Everyone can—

[How does he phrase this without sounding entirely trite and cheesy? He's kind of bad at avoiding that, in general, so he decides to just say what's on his mind, no matter how stupid it sounds.]

Laws for magic exist in my world. This one obviously doesn't follow them but I reckon the closest thing I can think of from home that can do this is... We've got this thing called a Pensieve. You can take memories and put them in so you can look at them later.

As for a Pensieve, well... You can observe more than remember. You'd be able to see details. Not that a memory can't be tampered with, but it's a way of looking from the outside—so I've heard, anyway, I've never used a Pensieve.
