Ok. First, the idea of monogamous relationships as 'standard' is a structure created by societal standards. there is such a thing as polyamory for people vested in relationships, and playing the field is perfectly acceptable provided all parties involved are honest about what they want. It's not for everyone, but then the standard isn't for everyone either.
